Sun depricates JRE 1.4.2, what impact on Centos?
From a different list: "JRE from SUN is getting depracated: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html" Centos comes with the 1.4.2-gcj-compat rpm. What impact does this all have? I do have JRE 1.6.0_05 installed on most of my systems (I see that update 10 is the now current version).

Granule pos bug ?
...what to do when no packets complete on a page... i reread the ogg spec and found this... "A special value of -1 (in two's complement) indicates that no packets finish on this page." So i searched through a few files and it appears that the muxer doesn't do this... has this been depracated ? In all cases i can find that this happens the page has the same granule pos as the previous page. Is this a bug in the encoder or muxer or is the spec wrong ? Also when looking more closely the granule pos appears to get out of whack at each point where this happens... with the granule pos...

Rails Plugins With Views
Howdy Kids, I currently have a Rails component we use in our CMS to display some items... Well, everyone keeps telling me that components are going out of style and could be depracated sometime soon so I''ve been looking at writing a plugin. Does anyone have an example of a plugin that includes views? I''d love to check one out to get an idea of how to structure my own plugin. Any help is appreciated. Cheers, Hunter

3.01 & FreeBSD Port/Install Makefile Config
...feedback on the Makefile listed below for accuracy. For instance the Makefile still shows configuring Samba with Winbind as an option, but I am under the impression that Winbind builds by default on 3.0.x. Please correct me if I am wrong. Also if there is anything that is new or anything that is depracated that would affect building Samba on FreeBSD and should be addressed in the Makefile, those comments would be appreciated as well. Finally I believe that FreeBSD does not touch certain parts of the /usr tree when installing from ports. I believe this effects Winbind which means that certain sy...

can't auth against more then 1 domain
I have 2 samba servers. One with centos5+samba 3.033 that has been in service for a few years now. I have installed a centos6+samba 3.6.9. I followed the how-to I did with the first one, copied over the krb5.conf and smb.conf from the working server and all seemed to go well. It is a member server of a window AD. We have 2 DC's that are part of the same forest: SEAS and SEAS-S. I

2 cards in, but work only separately
Hi list, my thanks to developers of nouveau first: I wonder how you put it together this far, where there's quite enough to appreciate! This question I have: strangely I can get each of 2 cards to work separately for a dualseat PC by toggling on/off fbcon=map: kernel option (compiled with CONFIG_FRAMEBUFFER_CONSOLE_DETECT_PRIMARY) -- by doing so I can have each card initialized and start

wget from within asterisk?
What would be the simplest way to retrieve information form a CNAM database that provides http based query responses? Does an application or script already exist that does this? Basically, I want to do a wget of a URL that contains the callerID number as a variable, and assign the returned text to another variable which can be used to set the caller ID name. Any suggestions?
