Bundle internal dependencies
Dear all, When creating a bundle with some internal dependencies (package B in bundle depends on package A), would having the same version installed suffice? Can I ignore the dependencie in package B's description? The test of package B fails when calling data() for an object in pacakge A, so I am not sure right now whether the whole dependencie is not bein...

Updating installed Rails 1.0 to 1.1.2 without gem
Hello, on my Company-Computer i`ve Rails 1.0 installed. Now i want to update to Rails 1.1.2, but there`s no chance to do this with gem because of a new Firewall. Is there any way to update to Rails 1.1.2 manually? Thank you Thorsten -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

can't build/run after adding lib to Fibonacci example, even reverting the complete llvm tree does not help
...X86GenDisassemblerTables.inc...   Building X86GenEVEX2VEXTables.inc...   Building X86GenFastISel.inc...   Building X86GenGlobalISel.inc...   ... which costs me much time (>30min) on my slow system - and i don't understand why "AlwaysCreate" is used here - i only added one lib dependencie to an example and reverted it? now the totaly unrelated big one is build again it could be that faster systems do not suffer that much from this behavior but it still does not feel right enough RAM, no swapping, just my 2 core CPU is not fast enough result: Fibonacci was built without errors a...

CPAN not working, or is it?

CPAN on CentOS 7 doesn't install things in the system locations by default (and by design). This is to stop CPAN from over-writing files that actually belong to rpm packages. A number of things you can do. The sort of recommen...

Getting Really Started with Rails - Tutorial styled Slides Available
For those that missed out joining the amazing turnout of ~70 people here in Vancouver for the mini-workshop I did on the 27th last month, I am making available the 30 slides I used for the presentation. The slides were used in conjunction with me demonstrating it via command line. Alot was learned by both attendees, and quite possibly even more so by myself while teaching the material. I created

CPAN not working, or is it?
.... I started off as always by using RPM's for everything I possibly can. I then started to use CPAN for everything else. It looked like CPAN was working and things were installing "OK". However, as I went for bigger modules, anything that had dependences were then failing as the dependencie were installed OK but then did not appear to be available. The last thing I've just tried is to update CPAN as the RPM is 1.9800 and the latest is 2.6. As you can see below, the install worked, but when it reloaded, or when I came out and went back in, it still showed 1.9800 Anyone got an...

Why Are You Using FreeBSD?
Hi Everyone, This is off-topic, so please feel free to disregard it, but I'm sending it to this list in the hope that it will reach a largish number of users. I am currently looking at updating some of our advocacy material (which advertises exciting new features like SMP support), and before I do I'd like to get a better feel for why the rest of you are using FreeBSD. If you had to
