re-install package
I tried to install alsa 1.0.19 on centos 5.3 64 - did not work - compile
errors.
I need to re-install alsa-lib and alsa-util .
I dont want to do rpm -e first on those packages as dependcy is crazy.
I know they were installed (rpm -qa | grep alsa tells me so) I just want
to re-install ?
How do I do that?
Thanks,
Jerry

About hotplug/udev
Hello,
The current dependancy on hotplug|udev (>= 0.59) seems bad.
As far as I remember, last week, when I tried to install Ralph packages,
I got an error from hotplug/udev and I had to use udev from
backports.org
Anyone know which version of udev/hotplug we will have to depends on ?
Maybe we could simply rely on a recent udev dependancy, because afaik
udev now provides hotplug.

[PATCH] [TRY2] Use nfmark as a key in u32 classifier
Hello!
This is the try number two.
What was changed:
- Added selectable choice in Kconfig file (thanks Jamal!)
- Don''t abuse tc_u32_sel to not break backward compatibility (thanks
Patrick!).
Stephen, do you have any comments on iproute2 part? I know it''s not
perfect but this is the best way, I think. "u32 match mark vvvv mmmm" it''s
intuitive but breaks a

Centos Gotcha: YUM Groupinstall
Folks
I have encountered a situation with YUM that isn't what I expected.
Let's suppose I want to install a group, call it G. My first
question would be -- is the group already installed. Realize all of
this is scripted.
So, I use
yum groupinfo
and I see the list of installed groups, and those not yet installed.
If group G is in the list of installed groups, one would think that

yum --installroot and GPG key
Hi.
When I try to use --installroot, I get the following:
---
[root at machine ~]# yum --installroot=/data/xchg-2.0/ install apache2
You have enabled checking of packages via GPG keys. This is a good thing.
However, you do not have any GPG public keys installed. You need to download
the keys for packages you wish to install and install them.
You can do that by running the command:

Firefox 3.5 Issues
I downloaded Firefox 3.5 from the M. Harris site and, for the most
part, have had good luck with it. But I have also had hard crashes
that take down CentOS, not just Firefox.
It happened to me twice on eBay (on the same page) -- and now I can
replicate it as many times as I want by going to...

...and choosing one of the two newsletters, linked there.
