Solr connection timeout hardwired to 60s
Hi, What's the recommended way to handling timeouts on large mailboxes given the hardwired request timeout of 60s in solr-connection.c: http_set.request_timeout_msecs = 60*1000; /Peter

FARFON lives!
Some of you have been following our progress on http://farfon.convergence.com.pk as we blundered our way through the development of a low-cost ethernet IP phone that does IAX and augments the client options currently available for the kick-assterisk server. With help from the denizens of #asterisk and kind words of advice from Mr. Spencer and the rest of the gang ... we're proud to have accomplished our final milestone #10 yesterday with successful network boot of the FARFON. We've got 3 (mostly) functional, but not very pretty to look at prototypes now. Next step is t...

use of Asterisk and T100P as Nortel DSX-1?
...deliver calls from the Norstart to Asterisk. These ideas would be a really handy use of Asterisk. If this stuff won't work, what might it take to make it work? I suspect it's more complicated than just using some sort of crossover cable and connecting them together. Thanks to the list denizens I've learned how to make Asterisk interface very nicely with a dumb pbx using the Flash and SendDTMF functions, but I would love to know the best way to make ASterisk interface with a smart PBX. Thanks a lot, Jim -- Jim Ockers, P.Eng. (ockers@ockers.net) Contact info: please see http://www....

For a typical Solr index, 60 seconds is an eternity. Most people aim for query times of 100 milliseconds or less, and they often achieve that goal. If you have an index where queries really are taking longer than 60 seconds, you're most...

GeoDa spdep
My question is in regard to the spdep and GeoDa packages. Do you know how to extract a neighborhood/adjacency matrix from R? I need a matrix that has all the neighborhoods on the X and Y axis, and then a r=1 when the neighborhoods touch, and a r=0 when neighborhoods don't touch. I think the Moran's I functions use a matrix like this when they estimate Moran's I. I can estimate

It seems that since security became a concern, the *necessary* bloat to functions is unbelievable (I'd be afraid to read the estimates of % of budget devoted to security nation- wide). 6) OTOH (there's always one, eh?) if the walkers-on-water denizens of the list/project want to make one available, I can keep learning/configuring my nook and contribute somehow later on. USB drive fails at sector 0xFFFFFFF
I'm backing up to a NTFS partition on an external USB drive with dump. I'm seeing failures in /var/log/messages reading sector 0xFFFFFFF that cause the verify pass to fail. Are there any known problems in the USB driver? Kernel via uname -a: Linux segw2.mpa.lan 2.6.18-92.1.6.el5 #1 SMP Wed Jun 25 13:49:24 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux Message reported. Off course people are going to ask. In my opinion as long as a topic is marked OT, it is preferable to one not marked but one in which the OP has not even done basic research on his problem. Re: [Lrlug-discuss]emergency....file/directory recovery
We have had another instance of this..... since I am forwarding to other lists, "this" involves a lost file, due to accidental deletion. in this case, we had a backup, but from the backup time, till deletion time, a lot of data had been lost. So, we have not enough disk space to do hourly backups, novell allowed recovery of a lost file like this, so: is there a filesystem that we

"zfs set sharenfs" takes a long time to return.
I have an X4500 fileserver (NFS, Samba) running OpenSolaris 2008.05 pkg upgraded to snv_91 with ~3200 filesystems (and ~27429 datasets, including snapshots). I''ve been encountering some pretty big slow-downs on this system when running certain zfs commands. The one causing me the most pain at the moment is setting the "sharenfs" property on a filesystem takes a little under 7
