help with function
Hello List I'm moving this over from the bioC list as, although the problem I'm working on is biological, the current bottle neck is my poor understanding of R. I wonder if someone would help me with the following function. cumulMetric <- function(deMirPresGenes, deMirs){ ??? #need to match position of each miR in deMirPresGenes with its FC to form a vector of FC in correct order ? ? fc <- deMirs ? ? fcVector <- as.numeric(with (fc, FC[match(deMirPresGenes[,4], Probe)] ) ) ? ? #multiply fc by context score for each interaction ? ? metric <- fcVector * as...

[BioC] problem with function
...nd the problem by using 'aggregate' instead of converting to a list and then tapply to sum values of metric. Probably more efficient as well. Thanks for the help offered. My function now looks like this (for the record!) and behaves as it should. makeMetric <- function(deMirPresGenes, deMirs){ ??? #need to match position of each miR in deMirPresGenes with its FC to form a vector of FC in correct order ??? ??? fcVector <- as.numeric(with (deMirs, FC[match(deMirPresGenes[,4], Probe)] ) ) ??? #multiply fc by context score for each interaction??? ? ? metric <- fcVector * as.numer...

scale,centre,and get more interactions
Hi folks, I am new to lme in R, and I have a question regarding to the effect of scale function on the lme. When I use the function to scale and centre the levels of the fixed effects (e.g., X and Y; both have two levels) and write them to new columns: ex: dat$cX<-scale(as.numeric(dat$X),center = TRUE, scale = FALSE) dat$cY<-scale(as.numeric(dat$Y),center = TRUE, scale = FALSE) and compare

Could you please give me the address of these tool(mp3check, mp3_check). I have many bad coded mp3, When Icecast streaming these bad! mp3s it kicks the connected clients. I want to delete

Number of listeners per server box ?
> Given my experience of running multiple streams on an > old 486, I'd say you will run out of bandwidth before you > overpower the server. Bandwidth is indeed the biggest resources. We used dual CPU p3-600's at icast. We had 4 machines and we built it to easily handle 12,000 listeners over 500 streams. Only 3 were active at any one time ( the 4th was failover ). CPU load

Shout???
Hello, Sorry but in the mails I have read I did not see any "shout" program comments. I have configured icecast and I am using "shout" to encode MP3s. Is the performance of shout bad or others are better then "shout"? I did not encounter any problems yet. Thank you for any comment. Multiple streams
Good afternoon everyone. I'm using Icecast 1.3.10, LiveIce and Lame 3.91. I configured LiveIce to encode different bitrate streams of my station and send them to the Icecast server. In the admin panel of Icecast I can see both of the encoded streams, one mounted on /icy_0 (bitrate 16000) and the other on /icy_1 (bitrate 24000). When any client connects IceCast is sending the default

Hello, Could the experienced people help me? 1:) Is it possible to start liveice in the background like icecast and shout?? 2:) If I insert another sound card to PC(it will have 2 or more sound cards). Is it enough to specify "SOUND_DEVICE" option to /dev/dspX in liveice.cfg and start another liveice session with that configuration file??? 3:) With many efforts I fail to start darkice

OT spammers was Re:what's happening here?
I appreciate everyone's response. It's glad to see there are others out there... However, I still have seen a number of posts that have gone unanswered and some frustrated users (keyword: users) such as myself. Currently my issues are: Unable to start icecast from init.d (error: "You can run, but you can't hide" repeatedly output until it almost crashes my box) Unable to

Icecast is cool, but how about video?

There don't even exist any players for it except from Real ... i can't think of anything less free than that. :| I suggest ditching all that crap and to

SWAT
I was playing with this on my test machine, (redhat 5.2, samba 2.0.3) worked great, and I was really impressed. So I decided to install this on my office machine. (redhat 4.2, samba 2.0.3) and the only significant difference is that on the office machine, I use encrypted passwords. I cannot get swat to authenticate on the second machine. That is, no matter what account, password combination

Icecast is cool, but how about video?
Hello, I suggest Darwin Steraming Server. Apple's Darwin Streaming Video Server is pretty good and open source...(It uses RTSP protocol and supports Linux,Mac,Windows) RealServer is not free(there is connection and year limitations....) but powerfull..(uses RTSP, supports Linux, Windows[memory eater :)) ]) Also there is Windows Media(uses HTTP(performance is very bad), supports only

How to set session variable in plug-ins
I''m working on a plug-in which has to manipulate some session varibles Unfortunately I end up with "Symbol as array index" errors. Probably the error occurs in a point that I never think about but here''s an abstract plug-in which generates the same error. It fails in the line of assignment "session[:aaa_uid] = uid" with "Symbol as array index"
