Asterisk@Home ... the next step
...nfigure?
And is there a specific _next_ place ( URL/URL/Wiki ) to continue to get
Asterisk@Home configured? Actually I'm testing at home since it is not
considered a "good thing" to experiment with our business' lines. :-)

any good redhat 9.0 rpm reposiroty?
I have been googling for the RPM kernel-source-2.4.25-040218.i386.rpm or kernel-source-2.4.25-040218.i686.rpm for the last 59 hrs and couldn't succeed.
Can someone suggest me some good Redhat Linux 9.0 rpm repositories.
And will the Debian deb work with redhat or not?

Error at client side
Greetings,
I am trying to make samba working on RH7.3.
I even can see Samba server from my W2k machine. However, when I click on
that, I wait a while and get an error message "The network path was not
found". I
don't know why?
If I try:
smbclient -U laoer -L W2Khostname without any password
I got the error: "Error returning browse list: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED"

Winbind help?
...other documentation I could get my hands
on, but am at an end to my personal understanding.
Is there a separate mailinglist for winbind users, or have I simply
asked a question nobody knows the answer to? (my last question was
posted today).
TIA,
Mike

Automount, NIS, and Samba

documentation on how to do this. Can someone point me in the right
direction, and are there any gotchas to this approach that I should be aware

NIS<->Samba mapping
...rather than at boot, as we
have a total of seven NT shares which potentially could contain a given
users' directory. I can set the correct share for each user at the NIS
user, but how do I get it to play nice with Samba (2.2.7a-SuSE)?
Thanks,

strange behavior maybe dependent on valid users
Hi!
My problem:
I have a network with many workgroups and my samba server 3.0alpha21cvs
is the only member of one of that workgroups.
If I went to the network neighborhood and tried to open the workgroup of
my samba server I got an error message saying that the workgroup
"mygroup" was not available.
So I minimized the settings in the global section of my smb.conf and I
was able to

samba and/or DAV
while looking for a solution for webbased access to our samba-servers
I found a recommendation towards using DAV instead.
I just took a first glance at DAV (www.webdav.org) and find it very
interesting.
Are there any documentes comparing these two strategies in intranet
and internet (speed, reliability ...)
I would also be greatly interested if anyone here uses DAV to allow
roaming users to

File xfer speed issues with MacOS X 10.2 and 10.3
Hi all,
I have a mixed environment of Windows 2000, XP, Linux, and MacOS X clients
connecting to various Samba servers. Our network is 100Mbit switched ethernet.
Originally, we were using samba 2.2.8a, with the socket options of TCP_NODELAY
SO_SNDBUF=4096 SO_RCVBUF=4096. However, the MacOS X clients (which were added
after the initial setup and testing), had horrible file xfer performance;

In an earlier message, Jerry pointed me to pam_mount.so, which I see in

so far google hasn't brought any joy either. Can someone help?
Thanks!

make of asterisk doesn't do anything...
I just got the latest update from the 1.0 CVS tree this morning. I was able
to make the zaptel drivers just fine, but in the asterisk directory, "make"
just sits there.
This is under the 2.4 kernel on a SuSE system which has worked just fine until
now.
I'm making as root, so it's not likely a permission problem.
According to top, grep and cat are running with grep sucking

iax notransfer=no and Tt in Dial()
I have a situation where our VOIP provider is running *, my office is running

a call comes in from the VOIP provider and they select that extension, the
call will be sent to my home * box and ring my phone.
That works fine. I set "notransfer=no" in the iax.conf file at the office so
that the office system can

Problems using WinXP-Pro client and Samba PDC
Hi All-
Some time ago (24 September 2002), I wrote the list about this problem with
using a WinXP Pro client with a Samba PDC (see below for details).
In response, Kenneth Illingsworth (if I understood him correctly) suggested
that the error message given by the Win XP client just might be accurate (ie.
that when the client complains of "Insufficient Memory" and then crashes

Minimal hardware requirements
Hi, all
I am doing "prrof of concept" system. I will have two IP phones connected to Asterisk box. Box itself will have 1 PSTN conenction and one analog phone conenction. A basic minimal configuration.
At the moment I am planning to use an old PII-350 with 128M of RAM I have lying around. I can not test anything yet, as I am waiting for phones to arrive, so question is will that be
