I?ve started in the last day or so having issues where users get a timeout when connecting to dovecot. The iPhone interprets this as an auth issue but re-entering the password makes no change. Outlook will either just not connect to it at all or it gives an error to re-enter the password also with no change. This happens within an hour of a "service dovecot restart". I?m using

Steffen, I checked 993 since I was using SSL for sending/receiving but imagine it?ll look the same if I check any of the other ports. When I tested via telnet, I checked from my home, not on the server to itself. ?telnet host.com imap? I don?t have an answer for you on the state yet since it?s working at the moment. As far as which processes, I try to connect and no matter what, I don?t get

Ok, I think I have come a little further. When dovecot stops accepting connections, I checked netstat and found this: [root at hosting1 ~]# netstat -an | grep 993 tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:993 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN tcp 0 0 65.39.x.x:993 184.101.x.x:36351 SYN_RECV tcp 0 0 65.39.x.x:993 107.212.x.x:51487

We, the mailinglist (archive), have seen that before. ( All so on DELL ) If I recall correct is now the PCI-ID of the NIC needed, plus an additional expection (for polling or interrupt) as Gene has done before. PXELINUX 4.10-pre17 and newer Dell OptiPlex/Latitude/Precision
...o ICMP echo (ping) or ARP requests but repeatedly sends ARP requests for the gateway, as if it doesn't receive the replies. When on the same subnet, Shantanu reports that it seems to hang on the request of pxelinux.cfg/default. I also tried 4.10-pre13 to no avail. This makes me think it goes deaf/ignorant for some reason. My next tests are TFTP on same subnet, HTTP on same and different subnets then a debug build with the serial port. -- -Gene

Permissions to the logs are fine. In /var/log/maillog I do see dovecot logging in there but nothing that indicates why there?s a failure. The one thing I thought of is if there?s too many connections but I am using a firewall that blocks excessive attempts but that?s fine. Netstat shows a bunch of CLOSE_WAIT though. I?ll try the debug level and see what I find. Thanks, Steffan Cline steffan at

Mongrel Hangs After Idle Period
...idle period...usually less than 8 hours. http://rubyforge.org/pipermail/mongrel-users/2007-February/002908.html I had hoped this would go away after a few upgrades but to know avail. Interestingly, the process does not die...it still accepts HTTP requests but does not respond...just sits there deaf. I do a cluster::stop and start and we''re back in action. There is nothing at the tail of mongrel_log..and when I make new connections..nothing gets appended The answers to the previously asked questions are as follows: 1) We do not rotate logs (yet) so we don''t use ruby to r...

Sim City 4 Not Opening
I've installed the program just fine, and it even started and ran just fine immediately after the installation, but now SimCity 4 will not open. Has anyone had this problem of it working fine the first go round but not at all after that? If you need more info, I'll be glad to give it to you. Thanks.

[PATCH][git-pull] lwIP PXE fixes
...;t have a matching PCB (protocol control block, iirc) since the reply has a different far-end UDP port than the original request, and lwIP will discard the packet before PXELINUX can see it. On select platforms (Dell OptiPlex 760, Dell OptiPlex 960; perhaps more), the interrupt appears to go "deaf" after a few seconds. By matching MAC OUI and flags value, force polling on these select platforms. I'm not sure if there's any better data available that shallow in the core. I believe PCI IDs can be fetched with functions from other libraries and the UUID and DMI data (the most li...
