Adjusting length of series
Hi I have a follow up question, relating to subsetting to list items. After using the list and min(sapply()) method to adjust the length of the variables, I specify a dynamic regression equation using the variables in the list. My list looks like this: Dcr<- list(Dcre1=DCred1,Dcre2=DCred2,Dcre3=DCred3,Dbobc1=DBoBC1,Dbobc2=DBoBC2,Dbobc3=DBoBC3,...) By specifying the list items with names, I thought I could end by referencing them (or subsetting the list) as, eg., Dcr$Dcre1 and get DCred1, Dcr$Dbobc1 and get DBoBC1, etc so that the explanatory varia...

command line speex program?
I need to convert .dcr files (from a Liberty Recorder) into a smaller size format that is more universally able to be listened to. After looking around quite a bit I can't seem to find anything except windows programs. I need to run it on my linux server. Any help or resources would be appreciated! -Michael...

What in samba 4.1 prevents a '/' share?
...owseable = no writeable = Yes With 3.6.6-1 all works as expected. However in 4.1.2-1 a mount error(13) is received when attempting to mount the share on a remote linux host: 16:07 alchemy:~> sudo mount.cifs //phoinix/config /mnt/phix-cfg -o username=david,uid=1000,credentials=/home/david/.dcr/mountcfile,noperm mount error(13): Permission denied (yes-credentials are correct, all other shares mount fine) Was there a change in 4.x that prevents doing this? If so, what? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

command line speex program?
If you can split your .dcr files into the respective .wav files, you can process each one of those with the 'speexenc' command line encoder app included with the speex codec sources. Just configure, build, and go. speexenc should be self-explanatory -- run without args, and it will provide the usual cmd line opts h...

sync slowness. ext3 on VIA vt82c686b
When I copy a file(13Megs) from /home/ to /tmp/, sync takes almost 2 minutes. When I copy the same file to /usr/local/, sync returns almost right away. Both filesystems are ext3 and are on the same harddrive. When sync is running, the harddrive light stays on but I don't hear it doing anything. dmesg doesn't show any errors either. Below is the `time` output for each command. If you

Support for NBD block status in nbdkit & qemu NBD client

VDDK has an API for querying allocated blocks, see ‘VixDiskLib_QueryAllocatedBlocks’ in https://vdc-download.vmware.com/vmwb-repository/dcr-public/8f96698a-0e7b-4d67-bb6c-d18a1d101540/ef536a47-27cd-481a-90ef-76b38e75353c/vsphere-vddk-671-programming-guide.pdf It's awkward to use but Martin (CC'd) has played with it and it does seem to work. The question is if we add Structured Replies + Block Status support to nbdkit & im...

[PATCH 0/5] ia64/pv_ops, xen: binary patch optimization TAKE 2
This patch set is intended for the next merge window. They are just enhancements of the already merged patches or ia64 porting from x86 paravirt techniques and that their quality is enough for merge. This patch set is for binary patch optimization for paravirt_ops. The binary patch optimization is important on native case because the paravirt_ops overhead can be reduced by converting indirect

This patch set is intended for the next merge window. They are just enhancements of the already merged patches or ia64 porting from x86 paravirt techniques and that their quality is enough for merge. This patch set is for binary patch optimization for paravirt_ops which depends on the patch series I sent out, ia64/pv_ops, xen: more paravirtualization. The binary patch optimization is important on
