how to manually specify domain controllers
...t active directory. Using DNS, sometimes both servers end up using the same domain controller to authenticate users. I would like to distribute the load to different DCs. Is there a way to manually point Samba to certain DCs? I tried the following configuration: security = ads password server = dc05.cfs.uoguelph.ca realm = cfs.uoguelph.ca But after restarted the smb, nmb and winbind servers, the server is still using the old DC for authentication(not switching to dc05.cfs.uoguelph.ca). Any ideas? Thanks! Dennis Xu

My dovecot works fine against Active Directory 2003, but not against AD2008
Fran and/or Matthias, Could you publish your doveconf -n? I can't get dovecot to authenticate with my AD. Maybe you have a solution I could try. What mail client(s) are you using? I assume by "AD 2003/8" You mean SBS2003/8 and are therefore using Outlook? --Mark -----Original Message----- > Date: Wed, 9 Sep 2015 17:22:34 +0200 > From: Matthias Lay <matthias.lay at
