[LLVMdev] [Valgrind-developers] [GSoC 2014] Using LLVM as a code-generation backend for Valgrind
...generate code when I explored some > parts of Mesa. > > Denis Steckelmacher > > [1] : http://llvm.org/OpenProjects.html#misc_new > [2] : http://steckdenis.be/page-projects.html === End of the first message === The idea of using LLVM backend in some dynamic binary translation (DBT) project has became popular recently. Unfortunately it does not prove to be good. I suggest you check the related work in QEMU. DBT part of both QEMU and Valgrind works in similar way. And there were a bunch of works on using LLVM as a QEMU backend. They resulted in slowdown mostly. In [1] the aut...

Locked files and DOS application
Hello. I have a DOS application which works with database files. The problem is, that Samba doesn't "unlock" the files when DOS app finishes its work. EGCS broken; tested 2.95 through CVS current
Just so folks know, all the modern variants of EGCS (now named gcc) out there appear to be producing occasionally bogus x86 FPU code at -O1 or higher. Guess what... Vorbis trips the bug whatever it is. I just grabbed and built the latest CVS code, and it's also broken. I'm constructing a small failure case example for a bug report now. It looks like FPU arithmetic into a register

can''t understand strange PRIO behaviour
Hello everybody, sorry for bothering you, but after some hours, I''m stuck. I''m living in a student''s foundation where I want to connect lots of people to a tiny DSL link. We have exactly four types of traffic. We want a really hard PRIO solution (as I promised to someone that group X will only use the link capacity which isn''t used by group Y). I could make a

Happy Birthday portable OpenSSH!
It was one year ago today that I released a patch to get OpenSSH compiling on Linux. I had no idea just how much trouble releasing that patch would get me into :) Within days I was inundated with patches, improvements and portability enhancements - contributions which have made portable OpenSSH the success it is today. So allow me to thank the current developers and all of you who have

...net gain of over +1 dB @ 1 KHz. This means: (1) If I set this up for testing at my www.pcabx.com web site, people are going to hear a change in the test audio signals when processed by your product that they will of course perceive as a defect in your product. + 1 dB is a slam dunk to hear in a DBT, just about everybody will hear it. Furthermore its not difficult to find highly-compressed, normalized program material that will sound clipped all the time with your product. (2) If I do technical tests for my www.pcavtech.com web site, then many of the test signals will be heavily clipped, an...

Makefile patches
I have sent some patches to some Makefile.am's as well as to some configure.in's, particularly for building without gcc and gmake. Can someone review those patches, and/or commit them? (we are working at the CVS head these days, no?) I cannot build in Solaris without gcc/gmake, for example -- running "autogen.sh" in the ao project with the native Solaris compilers causes

locking db corruption with 2.2.5?
Hi, We are running Samba 2.2.5 on RedHat 7.3 rebuild with ldap support. We run Win2k Terminal Server, which provides most of the clients for the samba server. After a fairly long samba server up time (usually a couple of days, but this happened overnight), we end up with some odd entries in the smbstatus output in the "Locked files:" area.... Here is one line of the type I mean:

chan_mobile with Nokia 6021 - incoming SMS causes call to drop
.../sms-sender-fix.diff but otherwise everything is standard. As the subject says, if I am making a call through the phone when an SMS is received, the bluetooth connection drops and the call ends. The SMS is delivered successfully. This happens on two different 6021 handsets, one is connected to a DBT-120 (csr) dongle and the other is connected to a no-name btusb dongle.
