Doubit about ts() functions
Hi everyone Please, I need one more help you I have some data that need to make a forecast. I´m using the command: Yst<-print(ts<-ts(Y,start=c(1,5),freq=7),calendar=T) to create the dayly time series by the dataframe Y. My data Y means: Y=measure dayly , start at 01/jul/2010 (thursday), for this reason that I use c(1,5). I need to create the time series aggregate by weakly (and not dayly as shown above), but if I use the command freq=7 is dayly, freq=12 is month, freq=12 is year, fr...

Problem in compilation from source in./configure R.2.2
...igure: error: --with-readline=yes (default) and headers/libs are not available I'm on a ASUS W2V laptop (Chipset 915PM), on Mandriva 2005LE distro, libreadline5 and readline5-devel installed. I managed to get it compiled and installed using option --with-readline=no. However, as I use R dayly, I'd like to get a functional terminal again.... Can I do something to fix this, is it a configure script error or should I just change distro? :)) The R.2.0 rpm for mandrake installs ok. here the location of my libreadline files /usr/lib/libreadline.a /usr/lib/libreadline.so /lib/l...

Newbie: Data reading problem
Hello everybody, I'm a new R user and I've got some difficulties to find the right way to read data files. My problem is the following: I have dayly records of different devices (they all have their own name) during a time period (let's say one year). Each device records 6 fields. I would like to consider that one "fellow" is the recording of one to six fields for one device during the time period. So my data files have the fol...

--remove-source-files
Hello all, I am using rsync version 3.0.3 protocol version 30, and I was wondering if I could use --remove-source-files option in this fashion: I use a crontab to dayly backup data, something like: rsync -tai --remove-source-files --ignore-existing --no-g --no-o --no-p user@source:operativo/almacen/{ESP05/recorte/*.tar,EU/recorte/*.tar} /media/BACKUP3_PROMES10/PROMES10km/ and I check the output status to send me an e-mail if there is an error, but I do not con...

Inbox re-initialized
Hi folks, I just replaced my mail server's UW-imap with dovecot yesterday. I use the following folder setting default_mail_env = mbox:/asiaa/home/%u/:/asiaa/home/%u/mail/:INBOX=/var/mail/%u:INDEX=/asiaa/home/%u/mail/dovecot_indexes This is a Scientific linux 4.2 with dovecot 0.99.11-2 . Now today the server loading is highly reduced because of the pop3 session impact is low. But users

hardware question
I recently asked this question, but I didn't get an answer on this part of my question: What hardware would be able to do this with ease: I must install a samba server as PDC for my school. The server would authenticate users using openldap (on the same server). And if possible, I would also run an intranet on it (apache, php, mysql). There would be about a hundred (maybe 150 later on)

I don't know if I really like this background though it is kind of neat. Where do I find the app to change this?

Want to help Wine project?
This message is for those who wants to help Wine project but do not know where to start. We need contributors of a wide range of skills. The minimal requirements are: access to a computer with Linux (or other Unix-like system) where you can use Wine. We have a lot of tasks which are relatively easy to do. The fact that these tasks are easy does not mean they are not important. Examples of the

schily tools
Hey folks, I'm reading up on gtar for tape archiving and it sounds kind of nasty and not something I really want to rely on. It looks like star from the schily tools is preferred. I'm using Centos (and RHEL) 5.7 which seems to have star but not sdd. Which leads me to believe that the Schily tools are maybe a bit "rogue" My basic requirement with what I'm doing is to use

WARNING: Break-in attempts
Greetings all, I''m forwarding a copy of an email I sent reporting attempted break-ins on my main server, earth.terran.org. I am forwarding this because I think it is relevant that folks watch for this kind of activity in their logs to catch people who "try doorknobs" in the middle of the night. After sending this email, I sent a talk request to the user, who was still logged

zfs and backup applications
Hi, I was wondering if there have been any conversations with backup vendors like Veritas or EMC regarding better integration with ZFS. While I understand they can use the "native" mode of reading files from the filesystem, it would be great if there were agents that had options like making a snapshot and storing a "zfs backup" datastream that could be used for zfs restore.
