can't even start smbd
Hi,
I compile and install samba 2.0.7 on Solaris 2.7, but I just can't start the
smbd.
$ smbd -D -p 3308
smbd: Version 2.0.7 : Must have effective user id of zero to run.
Any info will be appreciated.

Win2K printing Problems with Samba
Hi everyone !
i have some trouble printing from Win2K to Samba Server :
My configuration
Server Samba :
Mandrake Linux 7.2
Samba 2.0.7
CUPS
Configured Printer on Parallel Port Kyocera FS 3750 with CUPS
Client : Win2K PRO
driver Apple LaserWriter
When I send a request of print , my printer prints three pages :
the first have a line like this: "%%[ProductName : GNU postscript] %%"

Kerberos Support
As a new subscriber to this list, I would like to ask if the Kerberos
support for Samba 2.2alpha (krb5 Redhat packages are what I've already got
installed) is a bad idea.
Lots of room for subjective answers, no?
Specifically, does it require krb5 to make connections once the smb services
are running, or is it simply a connection option, used if available?

EA, ACL and Kernel Patching
I think I joined the list a little late to catch any info on prepping Linux
to support ACL's that went by.
I've done some searching, but I haven't found the answers (except in
switching to another file system that supports ACL).
A message just went by this morning, however, that referred to a kernel
patch for this functionality. Where can I find this patch and information?

These are the groupmappings as I currently have set them.
Do the undefined ones make a difference? I had imagined not.
System Operators (S-1-5-32-549) -> -1
Domain Users (S-1-5-21-3651717320-665621003-1503018246-513) -> users
Replicators (S-1-5-32-552) -> -1
Guests (S-1-5-32-546) -> -1
Domain Computers (S-1-5-21-3651717320-665621003-1503018246-2015) -> machines
