Questions regarding new echo cancellation features...
I notice the zaptel Makefile option the mark2 option & KFLAGS+=-DAGGRESSIVE_SUPPRESSOR is now gone. Does simply adding these options still compile in a certain echo can - or is there an other method of activating a particular can. I have not had to update my machine that is connected to pstn for a while & I don't want to jump into echotraining without a way to quickly enable...

X100P echo problems - seem to be fixed now
...X100P echo problems, it seems that somewhere just prior to Asterisk CVS-12/04/03-14:24:40 it has been fixed to where its hardly detectable for just a couple of seconds at the start of a call. (I use to have it rather bad for the first 15 seconds or so.) I'm using DECHO_CAN_MARK2 with KFLAGS+=-DAGGRESSIVE_SUPPRESSOR and echotraining=yes echocancel=yes echocancelwhenbridged=yes rxgain=-3.0 ; I'm about 12000 from the central office on good plant txgain=-3.0 Rich

Very bad echo (appears that...)
The echo canceller algorithms aren't doing anything. We get extreme echo during the conversation, it appears even before the call connects, the echo is there... This only happens with SIP to/from WCFXO (analog POTS). Looking at the Zaptel configuration: /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf: echocancel=yes echocancelwhenbridged=yes rxgain=0.8 txgain=0.8 (although none of the above options

My linux machine thinks its running windows!!! It crashes... (Problems with my x100p card.)
I have a pIII system with a x100p card. I've installed everything, got it working, no problems. I had a few problems with echo in calls through the X100p card so I read about enabling KFLAGS+=-DAGGRESSIVE_SUPPRESSOR in the zaptel makefile. After I did this I ran *. All I got was two flashing leds on the keyboard (scroll lock and caps lock). Everything else was frozen. So I thought, put the zaptel makefile back the way it was and reinstall. Didn't work. Same Problem. So I downloaded the latest CVS,...

Echo on remote end when using NuFone
I'm testing out my SNOM 200 phone by trying to call out through NuFone. When I do so, I don't hear an echo at all (in fact I can't hear myself through the phone) but the callee can hear an echo when she speaks. NuFone tells me their network is totally digital and so can't be involved in an echo. This is all well and good, but the echo is still there. Any suggestions? As a

TDM400P & X101P cards, echo issues?
...stead of ATA route, but I'd like to hear some sugguestions. Also, I haven't been able to find any real documentation on the various echo cancellers in zaptel. Can anyone elaborate on the differences between the various mechanisms? (ECHO_CAN_????) Finally, I tried recompiling zaptel with -DAGGRESSIVE_SUPPRESSOR, but that seems to cause more harm than good in my particular setup (if both parties are talking at the same time, results are indeterminate). I know echo is caused by a wide range of issues, a wide range of problems, and everyone's experience has been different. I'd like to get the most...

Echo Madness
...ling list and wiki suggested I should try tweaking a) In chan_zap.c - change the following line: #define READ_SIZE 160 to #define READ_SIZE 16 And In zapata.conf adding jitterbuffers=40 (and recompile) This did not have any noticeable effect, except increase CPU load. b) In zconfig.h, uncomment DAGGRESSIVE_SUPPRESSOR (and recompile) This made audio quality worse, and echo unchanged. My TDM400P card, which I purchased not two weeks ago is marked 'REF F' and the FXO module are marked 'REV B'. Discussion in the mailing lists suggest the Current card revision is H and the current FXO module revi...

SIP support status
Hello, I'm new to Asterisk and would like to know SIP support status. Are there any testing been done with some widely deployed client (Cisco SIP IP phone, ...)? I was using Vocal but I'm now interested in Asterisk as it seems to offer more features...if it supports SIP. Thanks for your help. Francois.

Echo
I used to get bad echo and also voice breaking up during a conversation, so I upgraded the machine (from a PII 300 to a Athlon 1.8GHz) and have resolved the voice breaking up issues but still seem to have a fairly bad echo on *both* sides of the conversation. Currently I am only using the system for outbound calls, so I am always calling from the digium USB port phone and out to the telco using a
