type.convert (PR#13646)
Full_Name: Stefan Raberger
Version: 2.8.1
OS: Windows XP
Submission from: (NULL) (213.185.163.242)
Hi there,
I recently noticed some strange behaviour of the command "type.convert",
depending on the startup mode used. But there also seems to be different
behaviour on different PCs (all running the same OS and the same version of R).
On PC1:
When I start R in SDI mode (RGui --no-save

The reason seems to be that format.AsIs is losing dimnames. That could=20
be easily fixed -- unless I'm overlooking something?

(PR#10379) Re: x11(....) kills R without DISPLAY
...x11",
The 2nd arg to XtOpenDisplay is listed as display_string, so passing a=20
NULL here seems like trouble when the default ways of finding the=20
display do not work.
Looks like a fix is to insert p instead of NULL. (Tested rudimentarily.)

os x crash using rpanel and tcltk (PR#10495)
Hello,
I've recently discovered a persistent issue with rpanel when running
R.app (2.6.1) on Mac OS X 10.4.11. tcltk and rpanel load without any
apparent error, and the interactive panels appear to work as expected,
however upon closing the panels rpanel has created I get catastrophic
errors and R crashes completely. For the most part R manages to crash
with dignity and work can be saved, but

'make install' fails on Solaris (PR#13946)
Full_Name: Bob Bownes
Version: 2.9.2
OS: Solaris 10
Submission from: (NULL) (164.55.254.106)
The sed lines in src/unix/Makefile confuse the grep distributed with Solaris
that gets configured by ./configure.
Switching from a separator of ':' to a separator of ',' fixes the problem.

It would be wonderful if the CRAN mirror had an easy way to set a "default CRAN
mirror".
Current behavior is to have to choose a CRAN mirror the first time a package is
installed in a session. The closest mirror site is always the same for me, and
I wouldn't wish to change it unless it

pbinom with size argument 0 (PR#8560)
Full_Name: Uffe H?gsbro Thygesen
Version: 2.2.0
OS: linux
Submission from: (NULL) (130.226.135.250)
Hello all.
pbinom(q=0,size=0,prob=0.5)
returns the value NaN. I had expected the result 1. In fact any value for q
seems to give an NaN. Note that
dbinom(x=0,size=0,prob=0.5)
returns the value 1.
Cheers,
Uffe
