Problems with recursive MPUT

I'm using the recurse command and can create first level directories but
I am unable to create new subdirectories in any of them.
For example I created the following directory structure on the Sun:
1 % ls -R
.:
d1/ d2/
./d1:
f11 f12
./d2:
d21/ d22/ f21 f22
./d2/d21:
d211/ f211 f212
./d2/d21/d211:
f2111 f2112
./d2/d22:
When I copy this to the NT box directories d1 and d2 are created OK but
it appears that samba is attempting to create the subdirectories with /
instead of \ in the athname.

Hello. I have the following system configuration:
1. Redhat Linux 3.7
2. openssh-3.9p1 with default configuration from RedHat.
3. Old d211 terminal connected to serial port at baud rate 38000
>From terminal i do 'ssh somehost'
and then 'ls -la'. Althogh my home directory has many files, the output of ls
has only few lines. Also when I do cat on some large file it is not shown properly.
