Request removal of CyrusImapd how to
...b. It's a long lived OSS project and has left behind many old docs in its years on the earth. This is resulting in strange queries coming to us as people try to follow information that's years out of date. To this end I'd like to request removal of https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Postfix+CyrusImapd+SASL from the wiki. (unless you can find someone to update it, but as it never made it out of draft status, this seems unlikely). It's 9 years old and has pointers to docs that no longer are alive. If there is anyone who would like to keep CentOS-specific setup information alive, we would LOVE...

This might be misleading since this is a feature request and not a bug. Leaving the technical details of the proper way to report this I'm still curios if the developer...

Cyrus-imapd update from 2.2.12 to 2.3.16
We are trying to move our mail store from a host running cyrus-imapd 2.2.12 under CentOS-4 to one running 2.3.16 under CentOS-6. The current host is a 32 bit architecture. The new host is 64 bit. We have followed the update guide found at: http://www.cyrusimap.org/docs/cyrus-imapd/2.3.16/install-upgrade.php The steps we followed were: 1. Install cyrus-imapd et al on the new host. 2. Modify /etc/cyrus.conf and /etc/imapd.conf to suit our requirements. 3. On the old host dump the mailbox.db in flat format using /var/lib/cyrus-imapd/ctl_mboxlist -d >...

Clustering dovecot?
...need more information. My basic understanding is that I'll need 2 clustered systems running with shared disk space and shared IP. Performance/load-balancing isn't an issue for me, it's just fault-tolerance that I'm worried about. I found a nice long doc for Cyrus IMAP (http://cyrusimap.web.cmu.edu//ag.html), anything similar for dovecot? Rick Rick Steeves http://www.sinister.net "The more I learn, it seems, the less I know." IMAP aggregation and MUPDATE protocolo
Hi. I'm just having a look about aggregating several IMAP sources and a IMAP aggregator proxy would come very handy. I just read: http://www.cyrusimap.org/mediawiki/index.php/Cyrus_Murder_Design and found it very interesting. Anyone did something similar based on: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3656 Thanx. Indexing Chinese?
My second (and hopefully last) question: is there any more news on indexing Chinese characters and words? Searching online mostly returns results from a decade ago or more, with nothing very conclusive. How close is this to possible? For the time being I'm doing some pre-processing on long strings of Chinese, breaking on punctuation in order to avoid errors. But I have some large corpora of

JMAP support in Dovecot
...planning to have full support for everything in those specs into Cyrus IMAP version 3.2 as well. Right now there's a couple of gaps that we either don't use at FastMail or are papering around with our perl middleware. You can see the remaining tasks here as we progress: https://github.com/cyrusimap/cyrus-imapd/labels/3.2 Cheers, Bron. -- Bron Gondwana brong at fastmail.fm -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... caching custom headers (via plugins)
hi, currently dovecot caches on disk some most common headers. Is it possible to tweak such headers list via plugins, eg to cache custom X-* headers, or do I need to hack the actual index/cache src? if so, which are the .c/.h files to touch? thanks -- paolo GPG/PGP id:0x1D5A11A4 - 04FC 8EB9 51A1 5158 1425 BC12 EA57 3382 1D5A 11A4

Discard duplicate messages at delivery?
...ages into specific folders. The MTA is postfix, and deliver is called using the "mailbox_command = /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver" directive. Is it possible to make dovecot's deliver discard duplicate messages? With cyrus there is a duplicatesuppression directive which works well (http://cyrusimap.web.cmu.edu/imapd/overview.html#duplicate). With procmail, this can be done with the following recipe, but I did not found an equivalent for dovecot: # One often receives duplicate messages for cross-postings to mailing # lists, or explicit replies to a post from you in addition to the # mailing l...
