from Cyrus to Dovecot, seen status on cyrus.index files
Hello, Using cyrus2dovecot (https://github.com/a-schild/cyrus2dovecot) I have migrated some test mailboxes from Cyrus (2.4.17) to Dovecot (2.2.9). The problem I'm having is that the seen status is in cyrus.index files, which cyrus2dovecot doesn't understand. Does anyone use cyrus2dovecot for migrations? If so, how...

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
I have been attempting to use the cyrus2dovecot script, to no avail. I have many years of content that I want to convert from Cyrus to Dovecot; with the above not working, what are other options out there? Another idea I had is simply set up another IMAP server (using Dovecot) and drag-and-drop and just wait, which I may end up doing. In t...

cyrus2dovecot script converts mailboxes to bigger sizes
Hello, list. I'm asking question not directly connected with dovecot. I'm planning a migration from cyrus-imapd to dovecot and i'm using cyrus2dovecot script (by Freie Universit?t Berlin) to convert mailboxes of users, but i'm wondering why size of mailbox in Maildir++ is so much bigger than mailbox in cyrus format after conversion: linux-a9qw:~/ # du -sh /mnt/imap/z/user/zinovik /srv/vmail/petrsu.ru/z/zinovik/Maildir 238M /mnt/imap/z/user...

Migrating from Cyrus to Dovecot
...rs use IMAP (with shared folders and ACL), POP3 and sieve filters. As a first choice, we tried the Dovecot's dsync tool. First tests were great, but we are not able to change the Cyrus auth backend for migration. Moreover, this migration seems too slow for us. As a second try, we tried the cyrus2dovecot migrating Perl scripts (and their derivates) from Wiki2. More or less they works but we found we need more control during the migration. So, as a third try, we wrote own migrating scripts. And thanks to the cyrus2dovecot it wasn't too much complicated. And there are my questions: A) Files...

preserving flags for shared mailbox when migrating from cyrus to dovecot
...attempt to make the migration as smooth and transparent for our users there are still some important unsolved issues. One thing that I can't figure out is how to preserve a user's flags that s/he has for mail in a shared mailbox. So far we tried 'doveadm backup -R' as well as the cyrus2dovecot script from here [1]. Both work well for individual mailboxes but do not migrate subscriptions for shared mailboxes and -- more importantly -- flags for mail in a shared mailbox. Reconstructing subscriptions is quite easy but I have no clue on how to reconstruct a user's flags. Any hint is g...

Cyrus MailDir to Dovecot mbox
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Anyone out there know of a tool that can convert a Cyrus MailDir format to Dovecot mbox? I have a user that I need to move over from a mail server running cyrus using MailDir format. At first I told him to setup second account with Thunderbird to our mail server and then use Thunderbird to move the messages over. But he has over 100K messages so

trash folder (again)
Hi, I read very intently all the issues related to imap trash folders, but either I didn't unerstand them or my problem is slightly different. I plan to migrate from cyrus to dovecot. I've executed the perl script cyrus2dovecot successfully with the substitution flag "-E 's/^\./.INBOX./'" cause I want to have all folders as subfolders of the INBOX. The vmail dir looks like this afterwards: drwxr-xr-x 11 vmail vmail 4096 Jul 8 14:19 . drwxr-xr-x 3 vmail vmail 4096 Jul 8 14:19 .. drwxr-xr-x 5 vmail...

How to skip errors on doveadm backup for migration ?
...that doveadm backup exits with an error if it cannot read a mail. Is there some way or option to make doveadm backup just skip the errors and continue with the next message ? I want to use doveadm sync because it preserves the uids of the mails. Imapsync works great but does not prserve uids. cyrus2dovecot is not an option because it does not work incremental and conversion would take far too long. Any ideas what I can do ? Thanks Christoph

cyrus2courrier mass migration
Hello, So we've chosen to use dovecot as our imap mail server and replace our old cyrus server ! BUT : I would like to do a conversion of my imap accounts (and keep all theirs characteristics) from cyrus-imapd-2.2.12 in cyrus format to dovecot 1.1.3 in courrier format. I've tried those 3 tools : cyrus2courrier.1.5.ts cyrus2courier-1.3z4 imapsync (works well but very slow and should not
