Hiya! And a question...
...pload to a remote streaming server? Strangely the libShout and low (mono 96kbs) streams are fine during this, but not streamhigh (the HQ stream). I'm only uploading one file?doesn't seem to matter big or small, the HQ stream goes crazy during this. Fine other times. Tried both Filezilla and Cyberduck over root SSH or FTP under a designated ftp user, still the same issue.
Looking at top (I'm using Ubuntu 12.10 on a VPS with 1Gb RAM + 1GB burst & dual CPU Xeon for my streaming server) I can't see a process hogging resources, proftpd or sshd is like 1-5%.
It's really odd, and rea...

Possible feature request: sync_on_close mode for scp/sftp uploads
..., please let me know.
Some background: My company makes an 'embedded' audio server box that runs Debian Linux, and one of the product's features is that users can upload files to the server via SSH, using their favorite SSH-compatible file-transfer program (e.g. command-line scp/sftp, CyberDuck, WinSCP, PSCP, etc).
That works fine, but one issue we have is that this box needs to be robust in the face of uncontrolled shut-downs: in particular, since it is a headless "black box", our users expect to be able to just cut power to the box, without logging in and executing a "/...

I'm trying to set up a Samba PDC. In windows, the Samba server is called Server1, Domain MyDomain, Windows NT4.5 Primary.
When I try to log into the Domain, W2K displays Domain MyDomain not available.

Rails on a Mac - I''ve seen the light
Well I finally broke down and got me one of those Intel iMacs and a copy
of Textmate. It took me a bit to get use to Textmate but once I learned
some of the shortcuts I was cruising. Mac OS X took very little time to
get used to as I already had a decent *nix background. Up until this
point I had been primarily on Windows.
Some of the productivity highlights I''ve found:

Convince me to buy TextMate!
I got a Powerbook recently and am debating buying TextMate. I installed
the trial and have checked it out, but don''t see what''s so great about
it. AFAICS it''s the Ruby and Rails macros for expansion and other stuff
that might be it. Other than that, TextMate seems like a pretty basic
editor. I currently use PSPad and Editplus, and I could probably
get/make macros
