Icecast and Chrome on Android
We've got an icecast server setup and one of our clients wants listeners to
click on the "Listen Live" link on their website on mobile clients to
listen to their stream. We've noticed that with Chrome on Android, the
audio plays for about 5 seconds then there's a 30-45 cutout before the
audio resumes playing. Firefox on Android and Safari on iOS don't exhibit
this issue.

Icecast Digest, Vol 144, Issue 2
This is what I use. It's very, very simple, but serves my purposes as a way
to get to my streams from any browser.

Problems with libshout2
Hi,
Let me know if this is the wrong place to post this, but I am having
problems with cutouts in my streams using libshout2. I am taking audio
files and re-encoding them at 32Kbs and then streaming them. Problem is
that every 20 secs or so, the stream cuts out for about 5-10 secs and
then continues. Any ideas as to why? Should I try using shout_send_raw?
Thanks in advance!!

BudgeTone 100 Woes
...s fine on both ends on the Sipura. I'm using the Teliax service
and I use the Ulaw codec for all phones.
However, I'm struggling with the BudgeTone 100. On my end, I find there is
lot's of voice cut outs. I'm told my voice is find on the other end, but my
receiving end gets the cutouts. I find it rather annoying and tend to
always use the Sipura phones, which work great.
I believe it's a configuration issue on the BudgeTone. I've followed all
the examples and notes I could find on the subject on voip-info.com.
Has anyone else had this experience with the BudgeTone...

Audio cut-outs
I'm having an issue with some Snom 300s on a server running Asterisk
version 13.9.1, Dahdi 2.11.1 w/OSLEC and pjsip 2.5.1. There is _*NO
NAT*_ involved. Phones and server are plugged into the same network
switch, all on the same IP range. The server is running a Wildcard
AEX410 analog card with 2 FXO modules receiving incoming analog lines.
Occasionally, in the middle of a call, the

X-Lite Softphone
...nd had the same
luck.
My laptop is the Dell XPS, so power, ram, etc are not problems, and
loading it onto my desktop system revealed the same results.
There was also no difference between a NAT implementation and a regular
(live IP) implementation of the software.
I am getting stuttering speech, cutouts, etc all the time.
Running my Cisco 7960 at the same locations and it works fantastic with
no issues at all.
Is anyone else using this softphone or does anyone know of a better
softphone or some hints on configuration that may make X-Lite work
better..?
TIA

Call quality questions
Our basic system is as follows:
P4 3.0 Ghz w/ HT, 1GB PC3200 RAM, 120 GB HDD, RH 9.0 OS, * from CVS
several weeks ago, working OK for routing, VM, and AA, calls in on
separate PSTN lines to Adtran TSU 600, into * server through T100P card.
The hardware is not taxed at all with little over 20% proc utilization
ever, low mem use, etc. All Phones are SNOM 200's with various firmware

ChanSpy with Record() : Doesnt seem to work for an unbridged SIP call
Hello,
I have an incoming Voip call, where an intro message is played (How can I
help you today?) and the answer is recorded - with Record(tst:gsm,3,30). The
call is not bridged. I also have an internal SIP phone which dials into an
extension as soon as the Voip call lands, and spies on the unbridged Voip
call, using ChanSpy.
All is well before start of Record () - ChanSpy can hear the

In the windows is because the Intel`s driver don`t implement the 640x480 resolution...

TDM400P/FXS in a HP DL380 G5
The HP DL380 G5 (like many rack servers) has no AMP Mate-n-Lok connector
available to attach to a card that needs more power than the PCI bus can
provide, like the TDM400P when FXS modules are used. HP has confirmed that
there is no part they sell to give you such a connector, and Digium says
their business edition folks got it to work, but only by doing nasty
warranty-voiding things to the

Power-outage
I have a CentOS-5.6 remote server in a house in Italy,
where there are occasional thunder-storms.
There was one yesterday, when the electricity
went off 3 times, for a second or so on each occasion.
My server, an HP MicroServer,
came back (re-booted) on 2 of the 3 occasions,
but not on the third.
I assume that the problem arises because the machine
does not close down properly.

ATI VGA Passthrough / Xen 4.2 / Linux 3.8.6
Hi,
I''m trying to get VGA passthrough to work to an XP x64 guest, and I''m
seeing "interesting" things happening.
I''m using the kernel and userspace tools from here:
http://xen.crc.id.au/support/guides/install/#
on Scientific Linux 6.
I gave up on trying to get an Nvidia card to work in the guest having
read about the extra patches required to get a
