Hi,
I am trying to query a W2K PDC for info on a print driver by issuing the

The response I get is:

Doing this in CLI via rpclient does exactly the same thing:

Difficulty with Samba 2.2.8 and native CUPS PS drivers
...er, I connect fine but receive
the error that the "printer drive is not installed on this computer" when
attempting to go into properties or print to that device.
Checking out the C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\2 directory shows
the following files:
Canon_BJC.ppd
cups.hlp
cupsdrvr.dll
cupsui.dll
Going into the registy, at HKLM\System\ControlSet001\Control\Print\
Environments\Windows NT x85\Drivers\Version-2\Canon_BJC I do have entries
to the various CUPS driver files. I'm not familiar with what all the values

CUPS postscript driver - setting up **ERRATA**
...tml#id2942237
and also in the "Official Samba Howto" book, I tried to install the CUPS PS
driver using cupsaddsmb.
It failed due to various reasons, and then I finally got it to work.
When I unpacked the latest tar.gz file (cups-samba-5.0rc3.tar.gz) it doesn't
unpack the files as:
cupsdrvr.dll
cupsui.dll
cups.hlp
but as
cupsdrv5.dll (5 instead of r)
cupsui5.dll (extra 5)
cups5.hlp (extra 5).
This causes the cupsaddsmb to fail.
If the files are renamed, then it works OK.

Chris Aitken

Has anyone faced this kind of problem before? This
problem has been listed in threads, but no replies
were given. If anyone wants to see complete error log,
i will mail that. Sorry for such a huge mail. I am

Point'n'Print: adddriver / WERR_ACCESS_DENIED
...ba manual, to
no avail. The problem is always the same; I can successfully copy the
drivers into the W32X86 directory using e.g. smbclient, but issuing the
adddriver command via rpcclient
rpcclient newserver -N -U'root%******' -c 'adddriver "Windows NT x86"
"printer:cupsdrvr.dll:printer.ppd:cupsui.dll:cups.hlp:NULL:RAW:NULL"'
Always returns: result was WERR_ACCESS_DENIED
I've tried using the GUI method but when I get to the Advanced tab the
'New Driver' button is grayed out.

Most jobs go through fine, but most is not enough. Depending on the
client and the print job, jobs are either printing with bad margins, bad
colors, printing postscript errors, or not printing at all. I finally...
