Simulating dataset using Parallel Latent CTT model?
I am trying to simulate a dataset using Parallel Latent CTT model and this is what i have done so far: (START) #Importing psych library for all the simulation related functions library(psych) # Settting the working directory path to C:/NCME path="C:/NCME" setwd(path) #Using the function to generate the data GenData <- congeneric.sim(N=50...

questions on subscores.
Hello, I want to compute Wainer et al's augmented subscore(2001) using IRT but I can't find any packages or relevant code. There is a 'subscore' package in R, but I think it only gives functions to calculate augmented subscores using CTT(classical test theory). Is there other package or code to compute subscores using IRT? If it is not, is there any plan to develop it in short period? Best regards, Hyunju Kim [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

A question on p-value of Unit Root Tests using “urca” toolbox
A question on p-value of Unit Root Tests using “urca” toolbox There’s a function “punitroot” on unit root probability value punitroot(q, N = Inf, trend = c("c", "nc", "ct", "ctt"), statistic = c("t", "n"), na.rm = FALSE) To my knowledge, “c” means “const” or intercept, “nc” means no const or intercept, and “ct” means time trend with an intercept. What does “ctt” mean? Isn’t punitroot a function of lag period? Why isn’t lag an input of the fun...

reliability, scale scores in the psych package
...hen correlating items with the scale using cor() as an informal check for "bad" items. Over the weekend I decided to take a look at some of the packages in the psychometric task view, to see if there was a way to simplify this process. I looked at several packages, including psychometric, CTT, and psych. I'm interested in hearing from others who need to do this kind of thing frequently. What approach do you use? Do you use one of the packages mentioned above? Are there other packages I might want to take a look at? Second question: I spent some time with the psych package trying to...

Error using write.xlsx message <20110128124648.284440@gmx.net>
Here are the specifications from Excel 2010. There are others for older versions of Excel so you may need to do a search specific to your application. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/excel-specifications-and-limits-HP010342495.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HP005199291 You should be OK looking at these specs. However, in my experience Excel is a resource hog and this doesn't rule out a bug in Excel or Windows 7. Make sure you have all the latest service packs and updates loaded on your machine for Excel *and* Windows 7. Windows 7...

adding a method to the dist function
Hi all, I'd like to add the Bhattacharyya method to the dist function. What is the best way to do this? I'm using R 1.9.0 and I was looking for the code that defines the already existing distances, but I didn't manage. As far as I understand, dist is defined in mva that is part of the stats package now, but where is the code? Thank you very much, Giampiero

calculating DNA mismatch distributions for large populations

It looks something like this: seqindex 1,2,3,4,5 sequences "ATG","ATC","AAT","CTT","GTC" table() output of seqindex frequencies: 1 2 3 4 5 6 10 5 1 7 The sequences are usually around 100 characters long (rather than 3) and there can be several hundred different unique sequences and the freqencies of sequence indices may total many thousand...

t.test in a loop
Hi All, I've been having a little trouble with creating a loop that will run a a series of t.tests for inspection, Below is the code i've tried, and some checks i've looked at. I've used the get(paste()) idea as i was told previously that the use of the eval should try and be avoided. I've run a single syntax to check that my systax is correct and works without any problems

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
