Various Doubts About Wine
Well, I'm using Hardy Heron from the last release of Ubuntu, and everything runs almost perfect with wine ... :?
But I'm Having problems when I'm trying games.. Dunno, for example, I've tried Call Of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, and got a little problem (mostly for my video card that is a little old :( ).
The First problem came with the error of the installer of the game, that sayed: You need Windows Media Player 6 or above to run this installation..
Ok, cool, so I installed Windows Media 9. Bu...

Where are the older versions?
Hi,
Anyone know where I can get a .tar.gz of 2.0.2? I'd like this version,
since the PDC code is reportedly more stable than 2.0.3. Or has this
been fixed in 2.0.3?
Thanks,

Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine publishes Samba art icle.
...go, Great writeup!!
I was a little surprised that they ran such a glowing review of samba,
with some of the negative implications on NT. It is very nice to see
Microsoft show an interest in interoperability.

Quorum in distributed-replicate volume
...gt; on the same nodes.
OK, great. So basically just install the gluster server on the new
node(s), do a peer probe to add them to the cluster, and then
gluster volume create palantir replica 3 arbiter 1 [saruman brick] [gandalf brick] [arbiter 1] [azathoth brick] [yog-sothoth brick] [arbiter 2] [cthulhu brick] [mordiggian brick] [arbiter 3]
Or is there more to it than that?

Samba performance
Hi all.
I know this has probably been asked before, but I need a quick answer, and
didn't find anything on the net.
Has anyone done any benchmark comparisons of server speed from Win95
clients, accessing files on a Samba 1.9.17p1 server share, as compared to
an NT Server, running on the same server hardware? If so, how did Samba
1.9.17 measure up to the NT server?
I need an answer to this,

NT & Win98 slow copies

(BTW, nice "virtual" interview in Linux Journal a couple issues
back; it was good for a few hearty chuckles, and *very* informative)

CoC - Dark Corners of the Earth
Simple question - Has anyone managed to get Call of Cthulhu - Dark
Corners of the Earth running on linux using Wine? If so - how?
If this isn't the proper place for questions like this - please direct
me to the correct place.

a newbie sshd debugging question
...nloaded the source and built sshd on Unix to test this, but I don't
know where the received packets are being decrypted and gdb is not
playing nicely at this time... can someone tell me where the
decryption happens so I can drop in a print statement?
Thanks

Logo origin
Hello
I was just asked what the logo means and I had to admit that I really
had no idea, as it was chosen way before my time. Can someone please
enlighten me about the logo. I have tried google but nothing really
came up :)
Some pointers would be very helpful.
Cheers Didi
