tzdata
I read a few days back on the list where the tzdata rpm was to take care of
the new DST rules. I run CentOS 3 servers, and did a 'yum update tzdata' ,
but received a 2006a update of the rpm.
Is this proper? It sure didn't fix anything.
Thanks

POSIX time anomaly (PR#7317)
Full_Name: Allen McIntosh
Version: 2.0.0
OS: RedHat 9.0

The POSIX time printing routine gives strange results when asked to print a time
that is exactly midnight:

Samba as a time server
Greetings,
is there any way to force Samba to return the non-daylight savings time when
Win/OS2 clients attempt to syncronise their clocks with it? The only way I
can tell is to force the entire system to ignore DST using /etc/localtime

Timeserver Timezone Mismatch BUG?
...ist, the comp.protocal.time.ntp lists and from
what I can tell, this is a PROBLEM, but everyone seems to give up before
getting to the bottom of it. The only reference I found that seemed like
new information was at industrial linux where there was a reference to
adding /etc/profile "export TZ=CST6CDT" (This aint in my /etc/profile
and I can't find any solid documentation that tells me it needs to be
there)
I have installed xntp3-5_93-8mdk_i586.rpm, and would like to use xntpd
with my hwclock set to UTC, but the only way I can get samba to pass the
correct time is to set hwclock and sy...

Weird internaldate behavior with 1.0-test80 and mbox folder
...ng this via telneting to the respective IMAP ports shows that
UW imapd shows the correct timestamp both in the original mbx-format
folder and the converted mbox-format folder -- so it appears that
Dovecot is skewing the time.
This doesn't look like a timezone issue since 200 minutes ahead from
CST6CDT would be a pretty strange timezone -- not even Newfoundland
has this odd a TZ value! :)
(For the curious, Newfoundland is a Canadian province whose
time zone is TZ=NST3:30NDT, therefore being a half-hour "off"
from the rest of North America.)
I have distilled this into a degenerate...
