More on Linux on the OQO
...oing over: ftp://ftp.oqo.com/unsupported/linux/OQOLinux.html This is for the 'older' model 1, I have the model 2. The files are 18 mo old, and relate to kernel 2.6.10. Of course I want to avoid a custom kernel, but please help me understand what is being covered here: "2. Enable crusoe processor in kernel .config CONFIG_MCRUSOE=y" What is the crusoe processor? 3. Perhaps this is so basic to you, but I need to put the real unit of measure. Individuals / 100 cubic meters. I have been looking in websites and R-list and there is not any examp...

Hardware requirements question
I've read through the Wiki, I know its hard to nail down hardware requirements because it really depends on what you are going to do. I'm very new to Asterisk, haven't even read my Asterisk for Dummies book yet (its in the mail). Can you tell me if this sounds sane? We are planning on using a Dell 933Mhz dual CPU server, with 1GB of ram for our Trixbox setup. We will have 7-10

can''t find a register in class `BREG'' while reloading `asm''
...I subsequently got other errors that said something like "undefined reference to `__guard''" and "undefined reference to `__stack_smash_handler''". Adding -fno-stack-protector seems to have solved these as well, and I''m now compiling the kernels for the crusoe." My gcc version is: gcc (GCC) 3.4.6 (Gentoo Hardened 3.4.6-r1, ssp-3.4.5-1.0, pie-8.7.9) I started off with 3.4.5 and similar or identical parameters for ssp and pie. The results in that case were the same so I''ve tried two different gcc versions (though both are hardened with p...

Quad T1 Card
Ok... I am reluctant to ask this question as I believe that it may be like asking what someones favorite linux distribution is... but I need to make an informed decision. We are getting ready to upgrade from a TE210P to a quad T1 card with echo cancellation. I am trying to decide between the Sangoma card and the Digium card. I need this to have great quality and I need it to work well. I would

Audio recording through Rails App > Web Server
Hey all, There are a couple posts about the possibility of using Red 5 to record audio through a user''s mic to the server, through RoR apps. I wonder: besides Odeo (I think they''ve developed an in-house app?) are there any examples and/or demos of this being done? Or, are there any reasonable java sources that actually *do* work to take mic input from a user''s machine,

ActionMailer w/o database link (e.g., feedback form)
Hey, A total noobieQ. Apologies, still learning. Could anyone point me to examples of a non-database-driven feedback form, for instance, a simple e-mail feedback form that takes advantage of ActionMailer? (How do I carry a POST through to a ''def'' w/o a database connection?) Thanks! -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.
