Crosstalk - Is there a debug option for logging this?
Hi All, I'm struggling with an intermittent crosstalk issue resulting in a caller's audio being broadcasted to other calls (only one way as they are unable to hear the others listening in). Doing do diligence I've scoured the web in hopes of triaging the issue. So my thoughts are leaning towards this NOT being an Asterisk issue, but instead...

Sangoma A200 wt HW echo on 64bit Centos , 4 fxo and crosstalk!
Hi, Has anyone ever experienced crosstalk with sangoma analogue cards on 64bit? We have exhausted every test to try and replicate this and find a solution with Sangoma tech support, but we can not fix it. We are about to try the card and four *seperate* UK BT lines in a 32bit system. The current system is a 4gb, dual core cpu with pbx...

Help forcing crosstalk
...PRI # (CALLER A) the audio from the conference is heard by that caller while the # they dialed is ringing in the background. The opposite also occurs where an outside caller will be heard in the conference channel as well. Frequency: 2-3 times per week, random, cannot seem to duplicate Audio: The crosstalk is always 1 way audio - Caller A can hear 1 person from the conference rather than the group. Or sometimes the conference can hear Caller A speaking but not the party the caller is speaking to. Question: What tools do you chaps in the field use to identify the audio routing and close in on the c...

FEC and Stereo
Hi, One other question I was wondering about. Is the reason that we hear the crosstalk with fec and packet loss percentage>0 is that Opus uses information from the left channel to try to error correct the right channel and vice versa? I am trying to understand the origin of the crosstalk. Thanks. -Jon > On Jan 27, 2017, at 12:29 PM, Jon Lederman <jon at soniccloud.com>...

Correct. Another effect I forgot to mention is that Using FEC will actually force SILK/hybrid rather than CELT, so it's possible that disabling FEC makes you use CELT, which tends to have wider stereo separation for lower bitrates. > Also, can you make any recommendations to decide whethe...

FEC and Stereo
Thanks. When you say that with fec enabled, the threshold is increased, do you mean the bitrate - i.e., you need higher bitrate with fec enabled to suppress crosstalk? Also, can you make any recommendations to decide whether to use fec or not? We are trying to tune the parameters appropriately. Audio quality and reduction of crosstalk are critical for us. Thanks again. Jon Sent from my iPhone > On Jan 27, 2017, at 11:38 AM, Jean-Marc Valin <jmvalin...

...stereo encoding, correct? So, based on what you say here is my understanding. Please confirm this is correct or not: 1) If we use fec, we can reduce cross-talk but increasing bitrate. However, that should result in higher packet loss due to higher bitrate. 2) If we don’t use fec, we can have no crosstalk. However, then we have significant chance of packet loss. 3) We could encode each channel separately. In this case, we would have no crosstalk, but we would have a lower compression rate/efficiency. Thanks. -Jon > On Jan 27, 2017, at 12:24 PM, Jean-Marc Valin <jmvalin at jmvalin.ca> w...

...eam directly from the soundcard yet? If not, is there anything in the pipeline? If it is possible, what bitrates in mono/stereo are available. I am currently using 24kbs MP3 stereo for sending two languages simultaneously, one panned left and the other panned right. Obviously, there are left-right crosstalk problems and some people with naff modems/ISPs are not getting a reliable stream. This is the motivation to move to a more efficient format, so I can reduce the bitrate. I expect some crosstalk as long as it isn't too distracting. Regards, Simon. P.S. Please add some news to the website. Anyo...

Network Chatter!
...#39;ve got a problem with a samba installation performed by another user so details of the installation are not known but hopefully someone out there has run into the same problem and can give me some information on a possible fix. One of our Samba servers seem to be doing a significant amount of crosstalk with a couple of our other Windows NT servers, I haven't been able to pinpoint what the chatter is but it's chewing up significant bandwidth!!

Channel bleedover?
Occassionally on calls we get what sounds like low volume channel bleedover. Not clear enough to make out words, but not echo of either side of the main coversation. We're using a Digium card with 11 channels connected to PSTN lines. Any ideas on what the problem is or how to go about troubleshooting? Thanks! Paul

FEC and Stereo
HI All, We are trying to use Opus in a VoIP environment for sending stereo audio. We have noticed a phenomenon where when FEC is enabled and packet_loss_percentage>0, that there is a mixing of audio from the left channel into the right channel and vice versa. That is, rather than hearing each channel in its pristine form as it was in the file, there is a combination of right and left

Can't mount /home anymore
Hi! I'm new to the list. I have a problem with mounting my home directory since my PC crashed. I hope that I can get some help on this list as I don't know much of ext3 myself. The mount command for my /home gives me the following output: # mount /dev/sda6 /mnt/tmp/ mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda6, missing codepage or other error In some cases useful info

echo cancel
Hello, I would like to test the echo cancel algorithm available in unstable version 1.1.4. This echo canceller can be used with other codecs like G711? Somebody could send me some documentation or sample, or explain the next functions: SpeexEchoState *speex_echo_state_init(int frame_size, int filter_length); void speex_echo_state_destroy(SpeexEchoState *st); void
