Is Wine just as good as CrossOver?
Hello! I struggle to run the Game Gun from Wine 1.0. I manged to do the following with CrossOver. Through CrossOver 7.0.0 I installed DirectX. In the same bottle I insatelled Gun. I replaced the Gun.exe with a Gun.exe for a no-cd-crack. This works fine. Is it possible to di the same with Wine 1.0? Best regards Fredrik

Wine and Crossover
Hey, I am new here but I wanted to know what code differences are there in crossover wine and opensource wine. I know the crossover uses wineloader to load programs and in opensource wine it uses mwine. So there must be some code difference. Any help is appreciated Thnx

Is Wine taking my donations and giving them to CrossOver?
Well I must say. I certainly feel like a fool now. I have been contributing to Wine for about five months, and was shocked to see a blatant advertisement for CrossOver, who take the hard work of those who have contributed their intellect for free and sell it for profit, on your home page. I then discovered through your own FAQ that most Wine developers are employed by CrossOver. Is this legal? To claim you are an open source project and take money from those c...

Need T1 crossover cable?
I'm connecting a T1 PCI card to a Nortel Option 61 switch T1 card. My Sangoma A102D shipped with 2 T1 cables - which I assume are straight through. Do I need to make crossover cables for this scenario? Thanks -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... SSE2 - Wine issue or not?
Hello dear friends [Wink] I have this issue that keeps bothering me. So, I have this software that I' ve been successfully using on Windows XP before migrating to Linux Mint. It's Presonus Studio One, although that don't really matter right now. What matters is when I try to install it using Wine is says "Your computer can not run this software. The required feature set SSE2 is

Bug in WINE: Is there a chance that Crossover is free of that bug?
I use Kubuntu 6.10 with Wine 0.9.32. I installed Dreamweaver 8. Because of Bug http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7372 Dreamweaver is de facto unusable under Wine because an essential function doesn't work: Pasting into the design view from clipboard is impossible. My question: Is Crossover "technically" identic to Wine? Is there a chance that Crossover will not have a bug, which Wine has?

installing crossover games broke my working Wine?
Note: This is on Slackware 13 if it makes any difference. (Note: I am quite clued up about the CLI/text/server bits of linux but once it gets to Xorg or sound I'm quite clueless) Note: this is all without installing WoW within either wine or crossover , just running it straight from disk 1. I had installed the wine that comes in slackbuilds, 1.1.24 I tried a few programs and for example World of Warcraft worked straight from the directory where I installed it from Windows - I would see the graphics, and I played it. It was playable indeed, apar...

PRI Test Lab
Hey Everyone, I would like to start testing/playing with PRI channels but I don't have access to a PRI line. Is it possible to do the equivilent of a crossover between two PRI Cards (say Digium's TE120P)? What I was thinking is that I could set one asterisk box up with a PRI card set as the TE and provide clocking and another box exactly the same but with the card setup as NT. I think I would also need to wire up the correct type of crossover as a s...

tasbooks Sage accounting software
I have tried installing tasbooks 2 from CD and the installer ran fine but no icon or star file appeared after finishing install. Does anyone have any idea how to get tasbooks running with crossover? Thanks for your help. P.S. the software is working fine with parallels. Since I am on a trial version of parallels (and crossover for that matter) I need to decide which on use in future. I would prefer Wine obviously but if I cannot get this application running on my mac I have no choice.

Crossover cable for E1 ?
I'm looking to connect a BMC 450 to an asterisk with a Digium Quad E1 card. Am I right in thinking that I'll need a special 'crossover-E1' RJ45 cable? If so, any clues where I might buy one in the UK? The Digium card sellers don't seem to stock such a thing. Thanks. Tim. Tim Panton - Web/VoIP consultant and implementor www.westhawk.co.uk

Wine (CrossOver for Mac) acting weird with modifiers.
Hi, This probably seems somewhat reaching since CrossOver isn't Wine, but well, it's built on Wine, so I thought I might just answer here anyway. I'm running WoW through Innerspace, which causes some weird problems. With Innerspace loaded together with WoW it'll act as alt + shift is being held down. Innerspace has an alias binded to al...

CrossOver Linux Vs. Wine
Sorry to bother, but I can?t understand a lot of your double standards ... On the one hand develop a proprietary product "CrossOver Linux", but at the same time cooperating with the project "Wine" that's free. Wine could be today better than CrossOver Linux, but who knows, perhaps you are sabotaging and delaying the Wine project. I Don?t understand why you don?t develop software 100% free and paid, also you...
