Crossfader for ices 0.3
FYI, I've added a crossfader to the ices0 trunk in subversion: http://svn.xiph.org/icecast/trunk/ices0 It requires LAME support (of course). To use it, either pass -C <secs> on the command line, or add a <Crossfade>secs</Crossfade> node to the Playlist section of the config file. Reencoding must also be enabled on your stream. NOTE: the crossfader can't resample, so all

OddCastDSP & SQRSoft crossfader problem
I've not had a reply on the OddSock forum so I'll try here. I am attempting to use the OddCastDSP Winamp2 plugin via the (free) SQRSoft Advanced Crossfading output plugin (http://www.sqrsoft.com.ar/en/plugins.html). This is necessary to provide intelligent crossfading which sounds very professional. I've not heard of any other crossfading algorithm that works so well. It uses the

streaming with crossfade
Hi list, I am just wondering if anyone knows a way to stream with automated crossfading under Linux. I know that you can stream to icecast from windows using something like otsjuke, or WinAmp with the SQR crossfading plugin, but am not aware of anything for Linux that will allow me to stream with gapless output. Any suggestions greatly appreciated as always.

ogg123 crossfade
Does anyone know of any developments to include a crossfade feature to ogg123. I'm building a music server, and I don't want XFree, xmms, or windows and any player. It'll be FreeBSD or Linux, and a command-line player, but I need crossfade(3 second merge). Any projects/ideas on how to include this feature into ogg123? How much will it cost to get it written?

We want crossfading so we need to use the SQRSoft crossfading Winamp output plugin. Ross. Icecast2 under OpenBSD - update
Hi, I've come a step further in my attempt to compile Icecast2 under OpenBSD... I didn't have the pth library installed (d'oh), but ´cd /usr/ports/devel/pth && make install´ did the job. It still bails out at the same point, though, but this time with another error message: [...] gcc -O20 -fsigned-char -D_REENTRANT -I/usr/local/include/libxml -I/usr/local/include -I/include

OddCastDSPv2 + Winamp 2.91 + SQRSoft crossfader
Hey Oddsock I couldn't find your email address so sorry for posting to the list. I know we've had a similar discussion in the past but I'm hoping something can be arranged to solve this problem. I've just tried your new OddCastv2 (for Winamp2) with the SQRSoft crossfader hoping that the old problem had been overcome, however, it is much worse. Winamp simply exits without any

metaflac: New tags to replace crossfading in players.
Hi All, I'd like to improve the way MPD (and other players) switches between tracks. I'd like something like crossfade but without any fading. I'd like the player to just overlap the end of one track with the beginning of the next track to provide a nice transition. Crossfading in MPD doesn't work for me since it just ramps the volume up/down over a fixed time and some tracks

Ogg Vorbis crossfading
Heya people, Does anyone know if cross-fading has been successfully implemented in Vorbis? I need to implement it in a project I'm working on and if it's already been done, a finger pointing in the right direction would be awesome. Thanks, Ian <p><p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To

skipping at change of song
oddsock wrote: > this may be an effect of using the SQRSoft crossfader...try disabling it > and see if you get the same effect... It is difficult to test this because the metadata is sent when each track is silent so there is no audible skipping while no sound is present. I had almost resigned to blaming the crossfader when it happened again (without the crossfader). I have a very short

continuous play between tracks
hello, i noticed that when i play flac files with xmms there is a gap between tracks, even on a continuous cd. is this supposed to happen? i thought that the file format was suppose to allow continuous playback. my first thoughts were that the program i used to rip (cdparanoia) was to blame. i uncompressed the flac to wav and spliced it together only find it playing correctly. my next

skipping at change of song
I think this may be an oddcast issue but I'm not sure. I've been streaming for a few days now and I've noticed when listening to the stream that at the change of every song the stream skips ahead slightly. It appears to occur when the metadata for the song title etc is being sent. For me this is a few seconds before the actual change of track since I'm using the SQRSoft
