one legend for multiple plots
...drawn using par(mfrow=c(1,2)), ie in the margin? All I've managed is to put a legend inside the plot region of one graph. Although I could write text in the margin I don't know how to draw lines in the margin if I were to construct the legend from scratch. Thanks for any help. Growing HW RAID arrays, Online
We add disks to an LSI raid array periodically to increase the amount of available space for business needs. It is understood that this process starts with metal, and has many layers that must each adjust to make use of the additional space. Each of these layers also says that it can do that 'online' without interruption or rebooting. But making it happen is not that easy. When the HW

I have corporate systems on 2 year commercial CA signed certificates and personal servers on 90 day LetsEncrypt ones - my users of IMAP and SMTP have never ever noticed when I changed the certificates on any device. Wich tuned profile for Dom0 and DomU
Hi wich tuned profile are the best for dom0 and domU? There are virt-host and virt-guest profiles for kvm, should I use them? If yes, should I use in domU ever virt-guest or is for example network-throughput profile better for a nfs/samba fs server inside domU better? -- ------ Greetz

Certificates
...e ?Pro? certificates at some point that cost money? Running a CA is not expensive per se - it?s the audits that the CAB (CA+Browser) Forum mandates that are expensive. In the beginning, the certificates had a certain level of trust with them that came both from the high prices (deterring drive-by crooks) and the fact that some sort of vetting was made to ensure that nobody could have issued a certificate for a domain they didn?t really control. But the later step is not very friendly to automation. And CAs can principally issue certificates for any domain - a fact brought home by the compromise o...

Importing IDL Structures
I am trying to get started with R, but before I do, I need to find a way to import my existing datasets, which are currently stored as arrays of IDL structures (RSI's IDL, not the other one). The problem I has is this: the IDL structures contain scalar items, as well as n-dimensional arrays. I can export the data in a number of ways, including as separate files for scalars and for each of the

kerberos5 authentication of ssh connections
Hello freebsd-security! What is the best way to authenticate remote ssh users transparantly without typing the kinit and kdestroy commands? Using pam_krb5 works satisfactorily for local logins but makes it crooked for remote ssh ones. The comp.protocols.kerberos and comp.security.ssh newsgroups and the pam-krb5-users maillist confirm this assertion. As far as I understood that using kerberized

SysRq over usb serial adapters
I am having trouble sending sysrq commands over USB serial, and I'm not sure what else to check. I have two identical machines, each with usb-to-serial adapters, joined by a null modem adapter. One runs an agetty, the other minicom. I can log in over the agetty as a user and it works as expected, until I try to send a sysrq. To send a break in minicom, I type [Ctrl]+[a] then [f]. Then I

Partitionable Raid
Hi, After reading the tutorial at http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Install_On_Partitionable_RAID1 I have the following question: What should I put instead of splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz and root (hd0,0) on /etc/grub.conf? Should I leave those lines untouched? If so, how would grub know where to boot from if /dev/sda fails? Or I would need to swap the drives in order to boot
