Join a Domain in a Wine Bottle
...fine, except is always asks me for the user name, password, and domain. If the Wine Bottle was part of the domain, then this would not happen. On a related note, would also need to know how to chain me "computer name" for a wine bottle as well before I join the domain. Kind Regards, Creepy Gnome

TBH I find it really creepy. It just seems fundamentally wrong (for me, at least) for the program to be writing "Hi", which is a greeting between *people*. It gives me the same weird feeling as if an e-postcard service were to automatically add "Love you mom" when I choose to send an e-postcard to my mom;...

Multiple user registration ...
...A, SoftPhone, VoipCelular, etc) - what isn't a problem at all -, initiate calls from any of this devices that are registrated with the same user - no problems on tests too -, but also receive INVITE requests on "all" devices if someone calls this user - yeah... here the thing gets creepy. The demand is quite simple: let a user registrate with multiple devices using the same SIP user on such way that if someone call him, all these registered devices will ring and the first to take the call will be "the lucky one". The demand, as I've said, is quite simple and logica...

vorbis tag for general music type?
...depending on what application is at the front :-) ) We would need to consult with game developers as to what tag names would be appropriate for a base set which developers might append with custom tags if necessary for a particular game. Maybe tag names like: ACTION CRAZY MELLOW SOFT JARRING CREEPY and so forth. These terms mean different things to different people and I am not suggesting we have a barney over what fits which. What types of music actually fits the categories is up to the end user to decide (and even totally inappropriate classifications could add interest to an old game :...

How to revert to wine 1.5.4 on Ubuntu 12.04 using Synaptic?
I am using: http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-wine/ppa/ubuntu as an additional repository in Synaptic so I can use the latest (released) version of wine, 1.5. Today, with the wine 1.5.5 update, I can no longer run World of Warcraft, so I'd like to revert to the 1.5.4 version until the latest released version works. Unfortunately, I can't force Synaptic to use 1.5.4 (perhaps because the

How to get podcasters to adopt Speex?
...l usually not yield an error but produce incorrect results. But if the sample rates match, then multiple applications can record at the same time. This comes into play when someone is running multiple VoIP programs (typical of some hardcore gamers) and could also be a problem if Google's creepy 24/7 audio monitoring advertisement targeting system ever catches on. And these are the ones that you can not assign the same IP as that the machine itself is supposed to have. Sorry about little rant, these creepy things are sysadmin's disaster, - UNIX sysadmin's disaster I meant. Or Windows sysadmin's best friend, I figure. Like in the phrase I'm stealing from one Windows sysadmin whom I respect a lot: "Did you try to power cycle the machine and see if it solves that?" </rant...

file permissions - the best way?
I'm interested in the *best* way to set particular permissions on the machine I am rsync'ing content to. These are the specifics of our setup: 1 client pushes to remote 2 remote machine = AIX running rsync daemon as chroot 3 client machine = NT running CYGWIN 4 directory tree on client has many files/directories with many differnt permissions/owners etc. 5 We wish ALL the

model.matrix() (PR#285)
I was alarmed to discover that model.matrix.default() can permute columns with respect to the formula. This seems to happen with user-defined components of the formula. Thus X <- matrix(1:4, 1, 4, dimnames = list(NULL, LETTERS[1:4])) Q <- function(x) x^2 # because model.matrix() does not like, eg, A:A model.matrix(~ -1 + A + A:B + Q(C), data.frame(X)) has columns ordered A, Q(C), and

Pre wine version 1.2.26 sound worked fine in lotro and the in game audio options page showed the sound card in a dropdown box and titles for all of the sound option slide bars. In 1.3.26 and now 1.3.27 there is no sound in game and the audio options window does not show any sound card or titles for the sound options or various volume slider bars and all of the bars are set at minimum. Deleted documents not deleted
I seem to be seeing cases where I call db.delete_document(somedocid) with no error, then flush() and delete the database object, but the document is still there after process exit. The write lock is normally deleted, so it appears that the database close finished normally. If I then then call delete_document(somedocid) from another command/process, this time it goes away. I've been seeing

[LLVMdev] Add a 'notrap' function attribute?
FYI, see also the previous discussion about "speculatable": http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2013-July/064426.html I think such an attribute should be added. In the thread which lead up to that thread, I proposed using more fine-grained attributes and Michael rightly pointed out the problem with that: you'd need one for every possible form of undefined behaviour. Menu Helper
Hi all, I''m trying to add a common menu to all pages in my application. It is just a set of links I want to display. I''m having trouble deciding where to put the code. Below is what I''ve tried to get out of the "Four Days on Rails" tutorial but no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Am I on the right track? Thanks, Sam
