smbmount from fstab
I've seen several references to running smbmount from /etc/fstab, but I've never seen an example. Does anyone have an example fstab entry that does this? Thanks Steve Litt

FTP access/SMBMount question
...perform an SMBMount when a user logs in, so they can get their share from the NT server. They're loggin into a linux system which is part of the NT Server domain and is not the PDC or SDC. Does anyone know of a reasonable method (examples would sure help!) to do this? Likelihood of WINS Replication?
My main interest in Samba is its use as a replacement for Microsoft WINS servers. From what I've read, it looks to me like WINS replication is a low priority for the Samba team - is this observation correct? What are the chances that Samba will be able to: A) Replicate the WINS database from/to a Microsoft WINS server? or B) Replicate the WINS database from/to another Samba server?

If I browse to the folders, still nothing. If I browse to the

Unix .TXT vs DOS .TXT files
Is there any option that will covert a text file from one system to the other? I have a few files on linux with extension TXT. There are plain text files. On NT, TXT is associated with the "notepad" and opens with the file as one long string. This is the typical CR/LF conversions between Unix and DOS. Can Samba convert the text files based on the client? Subba Rao subb3@attglobal.net
