Pinging DomU from DomU
Hi,
I am running Xen 3.0.2 in bridged networking on RHEL4. Everything
seems to be working nicely, apart from a worrying issue.
I can ping from Dom0 -> DomUs okay.
I can ping from DomUs -> Dom0 okay.
HOWEVER.
I cannot ping DomU -> DomU.

# ping xxx.xxx.xxx.248
Do you want to ping broadcast? Then -b

Even when I try with the -b switch, I get no joy.
Thoughts? TIA!

Cookbook/HowTo for using XEN to create a complete DMZ?
Hi Folks,
XEN seems to me to be the ideal partner to create a complete DMZ with
firewall, router, "Bastios Host(s)" etc within a single PC.
So far, I haven''t found any cookbook or how to (at least for the beginning).
Anyone knows of such thing?

Falko

Geoplan/Geospace almost works...
Hi.
I'm a math teacher, and I would like to use Geoplan/Geospace under wine
(http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=4002).
Problem is, the (non modal) dialog box behave badly. For example, as
explained on the db page, the window can't be selected, no mouse action
on it does anything, and worse, the property dialog can't be opened
without crashing the

Xen and SAN : snapshot XOR live-migration ?
Please tell me if I am wrong :
Xen needs LVM to perform domU snapshots and snapshots must be performed
by dom0.
By the way, a LVM volume group should not be used by more that one
kernel at the same time. So if we use a SAN storage, one volume group
should be activated on only one server and deactivated on the others.
But if we do that, it should not be possible to perform live migration

LVM & volume groups
Can anybody tell me if it makes a difference if domU''s have separate LVM
volume groups?
For instance, the Xen User Manual
( http://tx.downloads.xensource.com/downloads/docs/user/#SECTION03330000000000000000) says, when setting up a domU''s disks with LVM, to do a
vgcreate vg /dev/sda10
Should each domU have it''s own volume group, or can all the domU''s share

Migrate from an NFS storage to GlusterFS
Hi -
I already have an NFS server in production which shares Web data for a
4-node Apache cluster. I'd like to switch to GlusterFS.
Do I have to copy the files from the NFS storage to a GlusterFS one, or
may it work if I just install GlusterFS on that server, configuring a
GFS volume to the existing storage directory (assuming, of course, the
NFS server is shuuted down and not used
