Hidden line algorithms and a different kind of waterfall
This is not the same as the recent thread on a waterfall graph. I'm thinking about the rolling FFT display used in acoustics and other spectrum analysis tasks. Here's an example of a very fancy 3-D waterfall display: http://www.ultimaserial.com/UltimaWaterfall.html I was just wondering if there are any simple hidden-line tools in R that I could use to draw simple waterfall displays.

vglm(), t values and p values
...1, hence I plan to use "1 - pt(tvalue,1)", though I might well be wrong. In any case getting the darned t value seems impossible 2) because of the difficulty of getting (1), it there a way of getting vglm() to spit out a p-value for x please? I do recon many people might scoff at my crass desire for a p-value, but I'm dealing with some dire phenotype in a whole genome analysis where the *only* thing that matters are p-values. I have to be quite unsophysticated I'm afraid. Best, Federico -- Federico C. F. Calboli Department of Epidemiology and Public Health Imperial Co...

Some ideas about embeding data in ogg files...
...My idea is to make an application that would let people manually enter "beat streams" that can follow along with the music. These "beat streams" how ever they are processed could be used in many ways. Visualizations, strobe lights, mood guessing, beats staying the same as they crass fade from one song to another, etc... Ogg is a great format, and I think if we could integrate this sequencing system into an ogg file we could really come up with something that lets music and other sounds move beyond just playing and into better quality through better integration. In my project I...

Will Rogers: Kai Schaetzl may be ignorant about kill files (was: how will CentOS handle the perftools 1.7 vs. 1.6 issue?)

PXELINUX and WDS (The Proper WAY)
After about 15 hours, a packet sniffer and a ton of google searching later, I have a solution to getting WDS (Windows Deployment Services) to work with PXELINUX Google didn't turn up anything of use directly, everything that was referenced appeared to be related to starting pxelinux from either WDS or RIS. That just won't do, since they often can give hiccups and lockups when

Re: asterisk-users Digest, Vol 33, Issue 12
I too was curious about this, so I copied the text into Babel Fish, and this is the result: I miss of the 2/04/2007 to the 11/04/2007. I will answer your message as of my return. For any urgency, to contact Emmanuelle Parache Moga or C?dric Buzay. If this guy is really going to be out until November these messages will get rather tiresome... Doing the right amount of copy for large data frames.
Hi there, Problem :: When one tries to change one or some of the columns of a data.frame, R makes a copy of the whole data.frame using the '*tmp*' mechanism (this does not happen for components of a list, tracemem( ) on R-2.6.2 says so). Suggested solution :: Store the columns of the data.frame as a list inside of an environment slot of an S4 class, and define the '[',

Ajax Scaffold Generator for Rails Released
I just released a whole new version of the Ajax Scaffold Generator (for Ruby on Rails). The generator creates a scaffold page like the typical rails one, except adding, editing and deleting are all done inline. The generated scaffold is valid XHTML strict and fully styled right out of the box. Check out the demo: http://ajaxscaffold.height1percent.com/ And the how-to:

RFC: Second draft of an LLVM Community Code of Conduct
Greetings all, First off, thanks to everyone who contributed to the initial discussion thread. Judging by the responses from that thread, there seems to pretty broad interest in pursuing this. There also seem to be a few concerns. =] I'm including an updated draft based on the feedback, and I'll also try to break down the major points I've seen of discussion. Sorry for the long email,
