OT: LSI SAS1068e / Perc6/iR RAID Health
Is anybody here monitoring Dell SAS6/iR RAID health?
I have a mix of CentOS 5.9 and 6.3 installs on the PE1950s.
I'm finding drivers and Megaraid Storage Manager downloads via LSI's site,
but I'd prefer not to install a bunch of crapware. All I need is the
proper LSI daemon which exports info via SNMP.
I've used check_sasraid_megaraid Nagios script [0] in the past for PERC5i
and PERC6i controllers in Dell PE2950s. For 2950s I've only had to
install sas_snmp-3.11-0003.i386.rpm from LSI to get rolling.

The law in France (Code P?nal, article 227-24) states that a public

The lone PC in Raleigh
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Raleigh area Ruby users Meetup.
It was very interesting and very informative.
I did feel a bit out of place when we noticed that of the 11-12 people
there, I was the only one with a PC laptop. The rest were shiny macs.
Ah well, I need to replace this thing soon, and now that BootCamp is
out, I really have no more excuses. This way I can test

Thanks for reporting this. Though I bluntly admit I just ignore
everything coming from Microsoft. Hotmail has been tagging my company's
mailserver as a spammer for ages, so I'm tagging everything coming from
Microsoft as crapware. Nothing good has ever been produced by this
company. The last time I actually used MS Windows for work was around
2001, before Windows XP came out. This is the year I moved to Linux
(Slackware 7.1 at the time), and I've been 100 % GNU/Linux ever since.

We're adware-compatible!

The inherent insecurity of Windows is deeply frightening. I hope we
don't emulate it *too* well.

SSH attacks from china
Okay, I have a server connected to the net but have not added fail2ban or
anything on top of my firewall yet.
Thought you guys might get a kick out of this one user, ip is from china,
who has got a heck of a knack for making assumptions on possible usernames.
Enjoy this..., 8000+ attempts. Scroll down for funky ones. I have no root
access enabled on this server and it is pretty bare. Just using
