HVM bug: system crashes after offline online a vcpu
...d a bug when trying to bring offline a cpu then online it
again in HVM. As I''m not very familiar with HVM stuffs I cannot come up
with a quick fix.
The HVM DomU is configured with 4 vcpus. After booting into command
prompt, I do following operations.
# echo 0 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online
# echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online
With Debian''s default 2.6.32-5-amd64 kernel, the last log is:
Booting processor 3 APIC 0x6 ip 0x6000
With my own kernel which is of version 3.5, I''m able to get more logs:

Interrrupts and IPIs?
Hi all,
I have dom0 and a guest on the same cpu: cpu0. However, when I look at
interrupts and ipis (with Xenperf) I get the following. There is nothing
going on Cpu3 so why the high number of IPIs? I have done a reset of the
counters, but after I run my workload on the guest cpu3 IPIS go from 0
to 210276
(Dom- has only 1 cpu and xm vcpu-list shows the other 3 cpus in blocked
state. The guest has only 1 vcpu).
Also what does the counter PG_need_flush tlb...

kvm: C8 as guest on C6 host / huge delay while booting
Since C8.1 kvm guests have a huge delay while booting on a kvm host
based on C6. This delay was not present with C8.0. The "pause" happend
direct after the grub step. The VNC session shows only a "_" character.
Any ideas what changes?
