Running an R script without running R
Is there any way to run an R script without running R?
As an example, suppose I have a tcl/tk interface that asks
for a number (in a GUI) and displays its factorial. Is there a
way to invoke this script without invoking R?
I'm using R 2.4.1 in GNU/Linux Fedora Core 4.

Tracing Fans,
I know it''s been a long time in coming but the CPU Performance
Counter (CPC) provider is almost here! The code is currently in
for review and a proposed architecture document is attached here
for review.
Any and all feedback/questions on the proposed implementation
is welcome.
Thanks.

The cpc provider cometh
...d 109! For those that need an injection of
excitement at the start of the week, you can check out some usage
examples on my blog:

Also, you can find a new section for the provider in the DTrace docs:

E1s ISDN PRI & CPC
...create a pre-paid public call card
solution. In testing is looks good. I've been talking with Telecom
suppliers about supplying me with E1 Primary ISDN lines (probably 4 to start
with) and I'd purchase digium TE405Ps to connect everything up.
What I'm uncertain about is how to handle CPC with asterisk. I know that
2mbit E1 Primary rate ISDN lines give 30 voice channels each with the
remaining two channels used for signaling and timing and that when a call
comes in it should be possible to know the network Id of the caller and also
the type of call the caller is coming from (very i...

can FXS ports on TDM400P provide Battery Reversal or CPC

My question is how would one enable Asterisk to control the TDM400P/FXS port
to provide to the /FXO CO port on the legacy PBX, support for proper answer
supervision/CPC so that it can terminate and originate calls properly ?

Viking CPC-Disconnect
Someone on the list a while back suggested that if you were having
problems with call disconnects, to look into a product from Viking
TellecomSolutions called cpc-disconnect:
http://www.vikingtelecomsolutions.com/catalog/model_CPC-1.htm
I received my unit on Friday and put it into place Saturday afternoon
(SBC in this area doesn't supply call disconnect supervision). The unit
was acting correctly, according to the instructions, but Asterisk never

SS7 to E1 & CPC
Has anyone worked out a way to transfer the Calling Party's Category
codes to Asterisk through E1 / T1 connections? I know this is normally
available on SS7 interconnects but is it also available to asterisk on
the ISDN signalling channels? (I kind of doubt that it is......)
Thanks,
Derek

Disconnect Supervision UK / BT solution?
...nd having problems with Asterisk not detecting
hangups? Using BT? If so, contact BT and ask what the "Disconnect Clear
Time" setting is for your phone line. Odds are it's probably 100. Increasing
it to 800 fixed the issue for me.
"Disconnect Clear Time" is BT's name for CPC. "
Does anyone have any thoughts/confirmation about this finally being a viable
solution? This disconnect supervision problem has plagued TDM and Sangoma
cards for a long time!
Comments appreciated before I get on the phone with BT

I have looked for a new one online (In the UK using Maplin let me know if you know a better place.) becasue it would probbaly take too long to get one sent from China or the US and I need to get that station

OT: Optimum voice problems.
...is not a hunt but just CallForwarding No Answer/Busy, what
that means is that if I have asterisk setup to first ring a phone for
5 times and then go to an IVR and answer the phohe, it will go to the
next line and stop ringing the first line, and therefore never end up
in Voicemail or my IVR.
2. No CPC, hung channles, blank voicemails, and all the other goodies
that come with no hangup supervison, is a daily thing.
Anybody else seen this?
