Wine patches
Dear developer friends, Is there a chance to have daily patches to wine from CVS. Is too hard to wait a month for a big patch. Also, at my job I don't have access to open connections to anything than proxy, so CVS is not a solution. kind regards, Claudiu Costin ****************************************************************************** The information contained in this communication is confidential and may be legally privileged. Want to help Wine project?
This message is for those who wants to help Wine project but do not know where to start. We need contributors of a wide range of skills. The minimal requirements are: access to a computer with Linux (or other Unix-like system) where you can use Wine. We have a lot of tasks which are relatively easy to do. The fact that these tasks are easy does not mean they are not important. Examples of the

[Bug 2294] Detect renamed files and handle by renaming instead of delete/re-send
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2294 --- Comment #41 from Mihnea-Costin Grigore <mihnea at zulu.ro> --- The discussion about file systems like ZFS/BTRFS/etc. and their various snapshot mechanisms is off-topic relative to this feature request, since they are very different technologies used for different purposes. rsync is used commonly to synchronise at the *fil...

Steam nearly nearly nearly works
Hi! I'm finding that while Valve's Steam nearly works perfectly, I can only sometimes successfully actually connect to online games. For example, in "Counter-Strike: Source", when I select a server from the list, the game loads right up to the point where it says "Sending Client info" and it hangs. I'm sure it's only a tiny tiny thing, and very occasionally,

Idea: WineLib based Window Manager
Here's a thought that just hit me out of the blue; what if there were a winelib based window manager / desktop environment? It would be possible to use the wine look and feel to craft a familiar looking and fast environment in which users can run their legacy Windows apps and feel at home. At the same time, the Programs menu could even be tied in to .wine/drive_c/Program Files Just an idea,

Memory allocation gone awry with OpenSSH 3.(3,4)p1
...ernel, glibc 2.2.0, gcc 2.95.2/egcs 1.1.2, zlib 1.1.4 In all the configurations the same compile-options where used, with and without optimizations, without any effect on the results. Hope we can solve this somehow... I can provide additional data/tests if required. Samba 3 PDC > 3.3.4 broken with Win 7 RTM
I just installed Win 7 RTM (Release to Manufacturing), not RC nor Beta. After searching the archives I modified the required registry settings listed in other emails. I upgraded my Samba from the stock Centos 5.3 version to 3.3.7. Joining the domain worked, but I was unable to log in. I would get a 'Trust relationship denied' type error when trying to log in as a user of the domain.

subnet browsing crappy solution!
Trying all the stupid methods to solve the issue of Win2k hosts from different subnets that can't be seen in the NetworkNeighbourhood when server is Samba on Linux (including reading the F***ing manuals and not finding anything useful or browsing through the source of samba until my eyes fall in my mouth) I have decided that they were, well... ,stupid and chose to try crappy solutions!
