Does file.info man page describe ctime corrrectly?
(R 2.8.0 on Debian GNU/Linux sid)
?file.info contains:
mtime, ctime, atime: integer of class '"POSIXct"': file modification,
creation and last access times.
This implies that ctime is "file [...] creation [...] time"
Has R implemented ctime differently to Unix?
I understand, on Linux at least, that ctime is the last change time
(not the creation time).

[PATCH] Don't use -msse2 when configured with --disable-sse
Currently -msse2 option is added to CFLAGS even when FLAC was
configured with --disable-sse option.
This patch fixes this (if I corrrectly understood the syntax of
configure.ac).

File server and AD
Hello guys,
I will migrate our nt4-style to AD. Today we have a samba with openldap as
backend. I'll get this openldap server and use to classic upgrade. I guess
is the best way, right?
And the samba server I'll use as a file server.
My question. As the old samba has everything (files, permissions, etc) of
the users, when I join this server as member of the AD, the users will be
able to

BackgrounDRb, Schedule and Clean Up
...out a stop or am I doing something wrong?
At current for testing I have...
class NACWorker < BackgrounDRb::Worker::RailsBase
def do_work(args)
logger.info("Work Started")
sleep 0.5
logger.info("Work Done")
delete
end
end
NACWorker.register
Is delete the corrrect way to end the worker, I''ve had a look through RubyDoc and can''t find anything more suitable? Of course I could be being an idiot and missing something.
Also hemant mentioned the new version should be out at the weekend, I can''t find the new version on the website, but I...

Missing .so libraries for DLL files
Hi.
I'm trying to get this PS2 ISO generator to work.
It requires the DLL:s mfc42.dll and mfc42loc.dll---hence I got them and
placed them in ~/.wine/hdd/windows/system.
Now it's complaining about missing .so libraries for the builtin DLL:s.
I have this in the config:
"mfc42" = "builtin, native"
"mfc42loc" = "builtin, native"

need help for customized backend LowerFormalArguments
Hi, All,
I'm trying to build a customized backend and I need to lower the formal
arguments like this:
There are several specific registers just for storing formal arguments. And
also there are several general purpose registers for computation. If there
is an instruction which uses parameters, I should first use a move
instruction, which moves the value to general purpose register. For

configure a rails app for multiple databases
...llo Rails community
I cannot seem to find via Google what I had hoped would be
a simple issue
On a single DB system (currently, postgres 8.1.4),
I have two databases, each containing multiple tables.
I would like to configure my app and database.yml to recognize
these two databases.
What is the corrrect config for the database.yml ?
Is it something like:
> production:
> adapter: postgresql
> database: database1, database2
> etc.
??
Is there some trick involved with this kind of configuration ?
Presumably, I would have open two db connections within
the app, as a result of which...

Update: starcraft runs faster from debugger!
...ad <defunct>
And after about 4 or 5 times trying the wine trick doesn't work anymore,
Whatever i do the game starts choppy.
I don't know how to trace a program while it's running from the debugger,
winededbg --debugmsg +x11drv <prog> doesn't seem to work. How is the corrrect
startline?
The trace from wine
shows that DGA is disabled (even with /dev/mem set at 777)
Can somebody confirm this pattern of events?
you need ,wine-20040121 (haven't tried other versions) and starcraft retail or
starcraft shareware to reproduce this. The shareware version of starcraft...

rxgain and txgain in zapata.conf
...and echo
cancellation.
For me, the best result I can get is with:
rxgain=10
txgain=15
... the sound level is good, but the echo is a little bit to strong for my
taste.
Something interesting is that if I put a txgain value greater than 15 (let's
say 20), the external dial through X100P is not corrrect anymore. I get from
the PSTN operator the message " the number you have dialed is invalid".
Thanks,
Dan

Guests ignoring config changes
...VM using "virsh
edit", found the VNC line, changed "port=5911" to "port=5912". Saved,
verified that my change appears in the XML file on disk, tried again
to start the guest, and got the same complaint about port 5911 being
in use. "virsh dumpxml" shows the corrrected port number, but for
some reason the change isn't making it through to the guest.
I've tried restarting libvirtd, with no effect, so I'm guessing there
must be some cache of VM configuration data that isn't being updated
when I edit my guest definitions? What am I doing wrong?...

hidden shares
When hiding shares with Samba 2.0.1, I am finding that I cannot acces the files or directories in them. I am able to see the files and directories once I attach to the hidden share, but when I try to open a file or directory, I get a "Path not found" error. Can somebody explain to me what is happening and how to fix this?
Thanks alot,
Brian Dawson

Samba and Win98 dial-up more detailed
Problem:
Since I changed the network settings on my Win98 machine from obtain an IP
address automatically to specify an IP address so that my Linux box can see
it using samba, I now get a DNS configuration problem when I connect to the
Internet using my dial-up connection. What should I do? To help here are
the settings below.
