correaltion equal 1
Dear All,
I wonder if this is a technical or an interpretation problem. I fitted an lme model including a random intercept and a random slope. The estimated correlation, from the lme, between the random intercept and the random slope is equal to 1. Does it mean that I should suppress one of the random effect from the model?
Thanks a lot,
Bernard

Hi,
I'd got a matrix of correaltion values. Which cluster method can I use
to cluster it?

is it somehow possible to use acf() with two data frames and get a p
values for the whole correaltion of these two frames? AND to have the
lag function with p values? otherwise I think that cor() could do the
job but this one hasn't implemented the lag function.
an idea? thanks Martin

2 questions regarding base-n and identifing digits
Dear listers,
I have two questions:
(1)
Is there a way in R to change the base-n of the calculations. I wnat to run
some calculations either in binary (base-2) or base-4. Is there a way to
specify that in R - to chnage from the decimal?
(2)
I also want to extract the digits from a larger number and store them as a
vector.
I could do it through converting top string, parsing the string and

Partial correlation test
Dear all,
I'm writing my manuscript to publish after analysis my final data with
ANOVA, ANCOVA, MANCOVA. In a section of my result, I did correlation of my
data (2 categirical factors with 2 levels: Quantity & Quality; 2 dependent
var: Irid.area & Casa.PC1, and 1 co-var: SL). But as some traits (here
Irid.area) are significantly influenced by the covariate (standard length,
SL), I
