Need some clarifications regarding VT-d requirements for PCI passthrough in Xen 4.1
Hello, I am looking into building a workstation using Xen to host several operating systems. Looking at the pci passthrough requirements of Xen4.1 on the VTdHowTo<http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/VTdHowTo>page, I am a little puzzled with the fact that only Intel Core2Duo (with VT-x), Core2Quad, i7 and Core i5 (vPro Brand) CPU''s are supported while motherboards with the i55x0 chipset are supported (for example the Supermicro server mainboard: X8DT3-F<http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/QPI/5500/X8DT3-F.cfm> ). The irony in all this it that above this list of sup...

This happens as soon as the boot loaders gets to: "waiting for driver initialization" Below are asome photos to show what happens. htt...

Issue with installation on wireless-only desktop workstation, CentOS 7(1511)
...that required a bit of deep-diving to find, and a simple 'yum install NetworkManager-wifi' to fix. (although my actual 'yum install' command included the full path to the actual RPM on the install media.......) I have a personal workstation at home, a Dell Optiplex 745 with a Core2Quad Q6600, that is on the other end of the house from the router. While I could run cat5 to the location, it would involve quite a bit of labor, and I have a known-supported USB wifi nic based on the ralink rt3070 (cheap, but works well), so why should I run the cable when wifi should work well?...

HVM Windows: disk image vs. zvol - which is better?
Hi everyone! I''m planning to migrate a little firm''s Windows server to a HVM machine. The test setup woks fine (it''s basically an MSSQL server tied pack of programs for an accountancy office), all programs can reach the mssql from the outside on the hvm windows. If fact it turned out to be so good, that I''m even planning to simply copy the win image(s) to the

[LLVMdev] RFC: Recursive inlining
Hi Hal, > As we had briefly mentioned on IRC, one way of forming this 'stack', and its associated 'cnt' variable, is to use dynamic stack allocation. I hadn't really reached a decision on the mechanics yet. However, your suggestion while it can work within the current abilities of the IR, has the disadvantage that it is using an extra stack slot for the link pointer. I
