Cron
I have several crontabs running at various times of the day and night.
All generate copious output. All the jobs produce copious output, and
some of them I need to see, while others are 's are just a pain in the
butt to have t look at. is there some method I can use to
selectively monitor cron's output of the one's I want to, while ignoring
the others? Thanks...

I take it that this is evidence they don't follow the spec to the letter.

Interesting interaction between journal recovery and slow boots
For some time now I have been puzzled as to why certain portions
of my system boot were quite slow -- but only after journal
recoveries.
I was fearing that there was some ugly interaction between the
recovery and the use of the journal shortly afterward but alas that is
not the case. So just in case anybody else is seeing this problem and
decides to try to hunt it down, let me save you some

Meson build
Hi,
Just a heads up on my experiences with the new build system.
Arch Linux
meson-0.55.1
Overall, it looks good, so well done!
Just a couple of minor things I noted:
1. Arch uses a meson wrapper script (arch-meson) that sets:
--buildtype plain
This seems to trigger a bug in meson that results in copious bogus compiler warnings:
cc1: warning: ‘-Wformat-y2k’ ignored without ‘-Wformat’

R-RApache to develop Knowledge Base
Hi all,
I need your opinion about using R-Rapache to build a knowlegde base to
bioinformatics field.
I have copious amount of genotype information (some few million records)
and would like to store it in MySQL database. Then, using RMySQL connector
I would like to use it for further analysis using R over a web interface.
The web interface which I am thnking off, just does not serve the purose of

Guests consist of the disk images, plus copious metadata.
When you give just the disk image to virt-v2v (‘-i disk disk.img’), it

converting a character string to a subscripted numeric variable
Dear R-helpers:
It seems that I have a mental block. (Some say that it sits atop my
shoulders.)
For reasons too tedious to retell I have an R object:

How to log pubkey used in a keyring
Hi,
I'm trying to create a log of which key is being used to access a given
account.
I can turn auth.debug on, but that generates *copious* output to the log
file which isn't terribly desirable. Furthermore, the log's format from
one ssh implementation to the next varies, causes parsing complexities.
Tried a kludge using the "command=/some/path/to/script <ID>"

[LLVMdev] Inserting a branch in PPCTargetLowering::LowerFormalArguments_SVR4
Hi Hal,
For lowering code that requires inserting branches, you need to use a custom inserter, yes. Theoretically, that does indeed sound like what you want to do here.
It's complicated by the general structure of argument passing, though. In particular, there's lots of assumptions about the call sequence stuff. I don't know if things are smart enough (EH in particular worries me) to

install printer drivers on the server
Hello, I have been trying off and on over the last couple months
to get printer drivers installed on the server side of samba.
And have emailed the list with copious notes, got nowhere, and gave up.
(I realize that is is a beta feature and am not complaining at all: I can live with out it)
But; I have a little bit more info after trying to install the printer driver from a client
and failing

GFS
Hello:
I am planning to implement GFS for my university as a summer project. I have
10 servers each with SAN disks attached. I will be reading and writing many
files for professor's research projects. Each file can be anywhere from 1k
to 120GB (fluid dynamic research images). The 10 servers will be using NIC
bonding (1GB/network). So, would GFS be ideal for this? I have been reading

Samba spanning subnets
Hello,
I am in the process of trying to get a large network (300+ systems) spanning
3 subnets to be able to display all windows machines in the Network
Neighborhood. After reading through copious amounts of documentation, using
Samba as a domain controller and then having systems on each subnet seemed
to be the best approach.
I set one of the machines to be the domain controller for what was my

Unstripped stuff
Hi!
I was running lintian on our package... Among the copious errors and warnings
there are:
W: xen-utils: manpage-has-errors-from-man usr/share/man/man1/xm.1.gz 668: warning: can't find numbered character 160
Should we try to fix this, perhaps?
