Cron
I have several crontabs running at various times of the day and night.
All generate copious output. All the jobs produce copious output, and
some of them I need to see, while others are 's are just a pain in the
butt to have t look at. is there some method I can use to
selectively monitor cron's output of the one's I want to, while ignoring
the others? Thanks...

Interesting interaction between journal recovery and slow boots

After much investigation (strace and "set -x" in bash scripts) and
many times hitting the power switch) I finally figured it out. The
portmapper and nfslock scripts are the first ones started after
syslogd and klogd are started. During the journal recovery there

Meson build

Arch Linux
meson-0.55.1
Overall, it looks good, so well done!
Just a couple of minor things I noted:
1. Arch uses a meson wrapper script (arch-meson) that sets:

This seems to trigger a bug in meson that results in copious bogus compiler warnings:

I would like to use it for further analysis using R over a web interface.

Guests consist of the disk images, plus copious metadata.
When you give just the disk image to virt-v2v (‘-i disk disk.img’), it
has to make many guesses about the metadata. See this file for
details:

but I can't because:
input.line[7] is a character string, and
it ends in a comma.
This cannot be as difficult as I have found it to be. Can anyone help?
Copious Thanks.

How to log pubkey used in a keyring
Hi,
I'm trying to create a log of which key is being used to access a given
account.
I can turn auth.debug on, but that generates *copious* output to the log
file which isn't terribly desirable. Furthermore, the log's format from
one ssh implementation to the next varies, causes parsing complexities.
Tried a kludge using the "command=/some/path/to/script <ID>" prefix on
each key, where the script took the ID...

[LLVMdev] Inserting a branch in PPCTargetLowering::LowerFormalArguments_SVR4
...t to do here.
It's complicated by the general structure of argument passing, though. In particular, there's lots of assumptions about the call sequence stuff. I don't know if things are smart enough (EH in particular worries me) to handle this sort of thing. On the plus side, there are copious assert() bits in there to catch it if the compiler gets itself confused, so you should know sooner rather than later if something goes wonky.

install printer drivers on the server
Hello, I have been trying off and on over the last couple months
to get printer drivers installed on the server side of samba.
And have emailed the list with copious notes, got nowhere, and gave up.
(I realize that is is a beta feature and am not complaining at all: I can live with out it)
But; I have a little bit more info after trying to install the printer driver from a client
and failing with the error, I get this message on the server side..

I may look into it, in my copious spare time. <g> Since I posted, they
migrated us, and I've used the Outlook webmail. Pardon me while I go
worship the porcelain throne.
They *did* disable IMAP. "Policy"... aka, as Bruce Schnier says, "security

Once this message starts occurring, dovecot stops deleting retrieved
messages when the user retrieves mail (with 'delete from server' set).
The result is that the entire mailbox contents are fetched each
time, resulting in copious amounts of duplicate messages.
I'm on the rc8 RPM that comes with FC5, but am willing to remove it
and install a later Dovecot built from source.
1) Is this a known problem that can be fixed by upgrading?
2) If not, can someone tell me what this message means exactly, and

GFS
Hello:
I am planning to implement GFS for my university as a summer project. I have
10 servers each with SAN disks attached. I will be reading and writing many
files for professor's research projects. Each file can be anywhere from 1k
to 120GB (fluid dynamic research images). The 10 servers will be using NIC
bonding (1GB/network). So, would GFS be ideal for this? I have been reading

I would strongly encourage anyone with a good understanding of mathematics to take a look at the whitepaper, compare the KB1 the source and see what can be improved on. The echo canceller code itself isn't complicated but the math is somewhat of a dark art... Just make sure to add copious plain English explanations to any changes you submit so the rest of us can keep up.

Samba spanning subnets
Hello,
I am in the process of trying to get a large network (300+ systems) spanning
3 subnets to be able to display all windows machines in the Network
Neighborhood. After reading through copious amounts of documentation, using
Samba as a domain controller and then having systems on each subnet seemed
to be the best approach.
I set one of the machines to be the domain controller for what was my
workgroup, and while all of my systems are visible to everyone on the
network, the browse lists...

I'm not quite sure which differences are important. But I'm learning....
