Asterisk 11 security log, fail2ban, drive-by SIP attacks
Just a note that I did a little work to extend FreePBX distro with some extra Fail2Ban which deals with some drive-by SIP registration attempts. My regex is poor to middling, but the steps detailed here: http://www.coochey.net/?p=61 manage to stop IPs which try to authenticate against Asterisk which FreePBX were not able to stop before. I would welcome any improvements anyone would care to submit and I'll extend the article a little. The changes need the Asterisk security log feature, which I think was only...

Configure LAGG Interface?
Greetings- I'd like to configure multiple copper NICs on a server running CentOS 6.2 in a LAGG configuration for better throughput to the core switch. After quite a bit of searching, I'm not seeing anything of the sort. Is LAGG specific to the BSD world and the HP switches I'm running? Or, does it go by a different name? Bonding perhaps? If so, is bonding compatible with LAGG? --Tim

Outlook 2010 very slow when using IMAP - are there any tweaks?
Hi, though this is a bit of a side question, has anybody had an issue while running Outlook 2010 with Dovecot? The reason why I am asking is that I have setup a Dovecot 2.1.7 server on FreeBSD which works fantastically with Thunderbird but Outlook seems to be twice as slow in transferring information across?? # dovecot -n # 2.1.7: /usr/local/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE

redirecting traffic using iptables
Hi. I have two internet connections, the ADSL2+ is very very cheap (but fast 10mb) and I want to use the SHDSL (2mb) only for mail, ssh, http OUT and the ADSL2+ only for surfing. I all works fine if people specify the proxy in the browser, but in case like flash it of no use. Further if I can make the 80/443 traffic go through the proxy only, its an added bonus. If this can be done, fine. Bue I

OpenLDAP migration from Centos 5 to 6

Everything - MySQL, OpenVPN, email (dovecot), httpd, etc - except for openLDAP, which is taking more time than everything else put together. I haven't found any straightforward instructions on this anywhere. The official RedHat document

Centos 6.4, bnx2 in promiscuous mode does not see packets
Hi, I hope someone can help me, I cannot seem to get a system's ethernet interface to correctly work in promiscuous mode... I have a Centos 6.4 system with 2 bnx2 interfaces on it. I have set up eth1 in promiscuous mode and am sending traffic to it using the port mirroring configuration on a Nortel 3510-24T switch. The switch reports that it is sending a fair amount of traffic to the

Intel DH67BL + CentOS 5.5 IRQ #177 nobody cared
Hello, We have built a couple of CentOS 5.5 systems on the Intel DH67BL (Sandy Bridge) motherboard and overall they work pretty well. I'm having one problem which keeps cropping up and that is an error message that says: IRQ 177 nobody cared (try booting with the irqpoll option) report bad irq, references CPU idle then it references usb_hcd_irq and e1000_intr then it disables the add-on
