Contatenating data frames with partial overlap in variable names
Greetings to all.
I need to concatenate data frames that do not have all the same variable
names, there is only a partial overlap in the variables. So, for
example, if i have two data frames, a and b, that look like the following:
> a
a b
1 1 4
2 2 5
3 3 6
4 4 7
5 5 8
> b
c a
1 1 10
2 2 11
3 3 12
4 4 13
5 5 14

Multiple checkboxes
Please could someone suggest what might be wrong here. In my view I''m
displaying a series of check boxes and when the form is submitted I want
the controller to iterate over the values and contatenate them all into
a string "1" if the box was checked and "0" if it wasn''t.
I''m new to Ruby and Rails and I can''t seem to get any values out of

New to rails - scaffold command , how to get related items?
Ahoy,
I was able to follow the tutorials and build a simple to-do list program
with Items and Categories and have the related tables link up w/ the
default "scaffold :Items" command plus custom defenitions.
Then I erased all of that and tried rebuilding the program using the
ruby script/generate scaffold Item (and category) command.
Now the templates look like

Concatenating of OGG Vorbis files (again)
Hi there,
I am trying to find a solution for the problem of contatenating OGG Vorbis
files. Yes, I know that this can be done by standard "cat" tool but in this
case there are generaly two problems. At first some of the players doesn't
seek correctly (e.g. amarok). And the second problem is that if I have many
files to concatenate (~50) then it takes quite...

[PATCH] Improve support for exporting btrfs subvolumes.
If you export two subvolumes of a btrfs filesystem, they will both be
given the same uuid so lookups will be confused.
blkid cannot differentiate the two, so we must use the fsid from
statfs64 to identify the filesystem.
We cannot tell if blkid or statfs is best without knowing internal
details of the filesystem in question, so we need to encode specific
knowledge of btrfs in mountd. This is

Concatenating variables
Hi all:
I'm having difficulty with something I believe is very simple, but I'm
stuck. I have a large data frame that took days to clean and prepare.
All I now need to do is concatenate three variables into a single
column. For example, I have tenn$up, tenn$down, and tenn$stable which
all have values of 1 or 0. I simply want to put all three columns
together to create a pattern (e.g.,

simple repeated measures model: dumb user baffled!
I am in the process of transferring from an old version of S+ to using
R having used a variety of other packages in the past. I'm hugely
impressed with R but it has an excellent but depressing habit of exposing
that I'm not a professional statistician and has done so again.
Someone has run a nice little repeated measures design on my advice,
