tftp trouble
I am trying to tftp from a cisco router on my lan, but it is not
working. All I see are these errors in the log. I can "tftp
localhost" without a problem as well. Any suggestions on what I can
check next? I don't see too much troubleshooting available search via
google.
Thanks.

[CentOS 5] tftp-server, unable to create new files (even with "-c" option)
Hi all,
I'm trying to setup a TFTP server to serve as repository for the
config of all my Cisco network devices.
As per the the tftpd man, I've added the "-c" option into the /etc/
xinetd.d/tftp (as follows) but I still cannot get write access
(unless the file is already present).
[root at chl1 ~]# cd /etc/xinetd.d
[root at chl1 xinetd.d]# cat tftp

Logging from cron
Hello,
I've just spent several hours going over several Google searches trying to find a way to configure rsync to log into a file named "/var/log/rsync.log". So far, every instance where I've found someone asking about rsync logging remained unanswered (which is kind of weird in itself).
As far as I can tell, the only way to do this is to setup rsync as a daemon process so

Cisco 79xx users/consultants, 7970G color in particular share information
I would like to get in contact with users/consultants who are or have
worked with the Cisco phones and Asterisk to trade information.
Cisco has reluctantly made SIP available on their phones and most of the
information on voip-info and other wiki's appears to be reverse
engineered. There is a wealth of information out there which is
terrific.
I have a client with about 40 phones

Samba/Winbind GID/IDs not the same using AD RID
Hello everyone,
I recent upgraded to wheezy debian and the syntax of the smb.conf
changed when i moved up versions. It took about a week but i think i am
almost there. I got my systems to join the WIn2008 domain and can
authenticate and login on linux now with my AD users.
Now I just need to figure out how to change my SID and GID of my users
and groups. On some systems they are the same and

Making remote access to qemu://session easier?
This is frustrating:
$ export LIBVIRT_DEFAULT_URI=qemu+ssh://remotehost/session
$ virsh list
error: failed to connect to the hypervisor
error: no valid connection
error: Operation not supported: Connecting to session instance without socket path is not supported by the ssh connection driver
Has there been any thought given to making this easier? It seems that

[LLVMdev] Makefile.rules Changes / automake update (IMPORTANT!)
Hello,
I've closed PR106 (use automake) as WONTFIX. I've already delineated the
problems with automake in previous posts but as of now, all the automake
related stuff has been removed from the repository.
In an effort to start making our makefile system better, I've committed changes
to Makefile.rules and a few library Makefiles that nearly double the speed of
our compilations. I

You might easily get llvm-gcc4-mingw32 binaries from "prerelease"
directory. Since stdcall, fastcall & dllimport stuff is unsupported
right now,

[LLVMdev] Makefile.rules Changes / automake update (IMPORTANT!)
Hi Reid, just a quick note while you're doing this, a while ago I ran
into a problem that the standard makefiles weren't building libraries
(like, say, a new pass) correctly on OS X - they were being built as
shared libraries and not bundles, so they couldn't be loaded with
dlopen. The discussion is in the archives if you want more details...
I fixed it locally by doing the following

ssh + pam_winbind error 'incorrect password or invaid membership'
...nsswitch.conf. Authentication to shares works great. Now I
want winbind to authenticate ssh users as a pam module and it's failing.
Below I show the output of an ssh attempt with the auth.log and winbind
(in debug 3). If you see any problems with the configs/logs below, our
you need any other confgs/logs, please let me know. Thank you very
much.
No problem with any of the following tests:
smbd -b |egrep 'KRB|LDAP' # Shows Samba has needed Libs.
wbinfo -u # Shows winbind is doing lookups from ADS
johns
wbinfo -g # Shows winbind is doing lookup...

Pair-bonding on virtualized servers, particularly on CentOS 7
...rk port on the VM
tied to t he other bridge tied to th e other port on the hypervisor,
for failover in a VM that can be exposed directly to the local
network.
I'm also dealing with pair bonding of they hypervisor, even if the
VM's are NAT'ed, and wonder if anyone wants to share testing confgs
and notes for CentOS 7. I published notes on KVM bridging, pair
bonding, and even tagged VLAN's for CentOS 5 and 6 years ago, but
CentOS 7 has proven to be trickier, and I'm wondering if anyone else
doing virtualization has spent cycles on this.
I think I've gotten the setup on the hyp...

Hmmm I don't find any log specific to nrpe. In other words I don't see
/var/log/nrpe.log or whatever. :)
And when I tail -f /var/log/secure or /var/log/messages I don't see any
entries turning up in them when I hit the client with check_nrpe. I was

tftp-hpa 0.34 handles relative paths fine here. Which version?
does not look like any error codes I have ever seen.
