Logging from cron
...nto a file named "/var/log/rsync.log". So far, every instance where I've found someone asking about rsync logging remained unanswered (which is kind of weird in itself). As far as I can tell, the only way to do this is to setup rsync as a daemon process so that it will read an rsync.confg. The problem is that I don't want to run rsync as a daemon process, and am not interested in working from a rsync.confg file if I can avoid it. My rsync command lines are being generated on the fly by a perl program running via cron, and then shelling the command to the OS (linux) and handsha...

Cisco 79xx users/consultants, 7970G color in particular share information
...I've upgraded all of these to SIP 8-3-3SR2S and the basic functions are working. My current questions are: 1. How to remotely reboot 7970s. I have both web access and SSH access to the phones. The instructions I have for SSH are to use (1) user/pass (or whatever is in the confg) and then (2) debug/debug. Surprisingly "reset" is not a valid command to restart the phone. There doesn't appear to be a reset on the web page, maybe there's a hidden URL? 2. BusyLampField? Thanks in advance.

Making remote access to qemu://session easier?
...not supported: Connecting to session instance without socket path is not supported by the ssh connection driver Has there been any thought given to making this easier? It seems that having a simple helper script on the remote host that could make the same "use $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR or use $HOME/.confg" decision as libvirtd would be able determine the socket path automatically. Would that be a reasonable solution? I see that right now, even support for qemu://remotehost/system requires that "virsh" knows that path to the remote socket, so having a remote helper that can read the...

[LLVMdev] Makefile.rules Changes / automake update (IMPORTANT!)
...eryone: llvm-test has successfully compiled and run ONCE with these changes. However, please note that llvm-test no longer depends on llvm/Makefile.rules. I copied the OLD Makefile.rules to llvm-test/Makefile.rules. The ONLY remaining dependency between llvm-test and llvm proper is the Makefile.confg(.in) file. This was the only "safe/quick" way to ensure I didn't break llvm-test. As time goes on we need to straighten out the Makefile mess in llvm-test but that's another project. Reid.

[LLVMdev] Building llvm under cygwin
...all, fastcall & dllimport stuff is unsupported right now, I don't see too much difference between cygwin & mingw builds of llvm-gcc except the extended file names support of the former (e.g. it can accept "/home/user/foo.c"). Could you please show us the contents of your llvm-confg file (it should be in your /llvm/obj/Debug/bin/) -- With best regards, Anton Korobeynikov. Pair-bonding on virtualized servers, particularly on CentOS 7
...rk port on the VM tied to t he other bridge tied to th e other port on the hypervisor, for failover in a VM that can be exposed directly to the local network. I'm also dealing with pair bonding of they hypervisor, even if the VM's are NAT'ed, and wonder if anyone wants to share testing confgs and notes for CentOS 7. I published notes on KVM bridging, pair bonding, and even tagged VLAN's for CentOS 5 and 6 years ago, but CentOS 7 has proven to be trickier, and I'm wondering if anyone else doing virtualization has spent cycles on this. I think I've gotten the setup on the hy...
