Bug#344553: logcheck: Fails silently to read config file
Package: logcheck
Version: 1.2.42
Severity: minor
Tags: patch
Logcheck does not report any error if the config file is not readable
or does not exists. This may easily happen, as logcheck is run as
logcheck user and while one is testing a new configuration on live
system with running configuration intact.

Defining function in template files?
Hi,
Is it possible to define a function in a template file?
For example, I thought it might be a good idea to define my Debian
systems'' /etc/apt/sources.list files based on what level of stability
and freeness a system should have. So I have this puppet code:
#---------- apt.pp ----------------

include directive for conffiles
...as samba in order to
manage the config file in several seperate ones. I would like to know if
I am right and in that case, I suggest it would be an interesting feature.
Separating the configuration of the server itself from the ressources
it offers (the modules) allows a simplest management of conffiles
through a package management system: the part concerning the server can
be updated each time the packet is and part concerning ressources can be
managed as "conffiles" in the sense of packaging ie left unchanged
through the updates.
Thanks for suggests

Upgrade Samba 4
Hi,
To upgrade my secondary DC Samba 4.5-16 to 4.8 should I remove the smb.conf
file in /etc/samba first? I remember I tried last month to upgrade from
4.5-16 to 4.7 and broke the installation.
Or are just the procedures below enough?
Create this file repo file for apt.
echo "deb http://apt.van-belle.nl/debian stretch-samba48 main contrib
non-free" | sudo tee -a

Upgrade Samba 4
No, thats also correct.
?
Because in 4.10 new packages are added and removed.
?
you need to run : apt-get dist-upgrade
?
Small note, i always run : apt-get dist-upgrade -y
-dy?, download and yes.
?
then run : apt-get dist-upgrade -y
?
that makes sure you always have all the needed packages on you server before you upgrade.

Printproblems in 3.0.3 - Postscript files contain log messages
Hello!
I'm having a problem with Samba 3.0.3 on a HP-UX 11.00 server. In Samba,
I'm having a printer which allows me to create PDF files. For this, I
added the following lines to smb.conf:
[global]
load printers = No
printcap name = /etc/opt/samba/printcap
[printers]
comment = Defaults for all printers
path = /var/opt/samba/spool
read only = Yes

Extensions - Realtime
CVS HEAD/Asterisk 1.2: Is there a way to have the entire
extensions.conffile coming from the realtime?
It appears that RealTime for the extensions.conf file is on a context by
context basis, but you have to create each new context in the
extensions.conf file then add a "switch => Realtime" line (then reload). I
want to be able to add phones without having to edit any files.

File paths must be fully qualified
Hi,
In the foreman apache module, I get an error when trying to apply the
"::config" part of it.
The section that causes problem is:
file{ "${apache::params::configdir}/${apache::params::conffile}":
mode => ''0644'',
notify => Exec[''reload-apache''],
require => Class[''apache::install''],

Remake configure/config.h.in/etc.
Since multiple people have applied my UseLogin patch and failed to get
it to work because configure/config.h.in were not automatically rebuilt,
I decided it was time to add some rules to the Makefiles to update these
things. The appended patch will cause a "make" to rebuild configure,
config.h.in, config.h, and both Makefiles if the appropriate source
file(s) change. It will also run

playlist handler questions
I have a bad habit of re-creating the wheel, and have the feeling Im missing
some critical info, so... before I delve any deeper I wanted to throw this
out there for some clarity: Im all kinds of confused about building a
playlist handler.
Lets say I wanted on demand streaming...
