Ticket #5038 ActiveResource not handling updates correctly
https://rails.lighthouseapp.com/projects/8994-ruby-on-rails/tickets/5038-activeresource-not-handling-updates-correctly
I just added this ticket. I''m writing a Sinatra API to be consumed by
Rails and I''ve run into an issue where the ActiveResource
documentation specifies that on update you should return an HTTP 204
status with no body. The problem is that Rack doesn''t

NetworkManager constantly overwriting /etc/resolve.conf - how to disable?
Hi all,
I have a CentOS 5.4 server-only installation, i.e. no X installed, and
for some odd reason /etc/resolve.conf gets overwritten by
NetworkManager on a constant basis. I haven't been able to track down
how often, but I think it's on the hour, or something.
This is the conents of the file right now:
# Generated by NetworkManager
# No nameservers found; try putting DNS servers into your
# ifcfg files in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts like so:
#
# DNS1=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
# DNS2=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
# DOMAIN=lab.foo.com bar.foo.com
So, I change it to the following:

sound good.
It would be nice if there were an abstraction layer for various GPIO
access methods, rather than hard-coding linux, even if there is only one
implementation of the

GPIO as NUT driver interface?
Did refactoring to better split library specifics, now see
open/close/read lines that any library should support. Need to split
into 2 files, may to go for library?

GPIO as NUT driver interface?
FWIW, there is precedent with libusb{1,0}, libshut and libhid which
abstract NUT operations from a "backend lib" to build against; similar for
serial.c used by many drivers. Take care to not conflict by filenames with
"real" third-party libs used by the build - especially to avoid mixups for
headers and in docs/discussion.

acts_as_taggable query
Hi ,
I couldnt find any mailing list for this nice plugin so I hope this is not
off topic.I just have a basic question here.
I already had created a table and a model for the tags and items and the
join table and now want to use this plugin but I just cant seem to figure
out how to make it use my table instead of the default.

View Directory Structure

I have a controller called contents so when i point to
http://localhost:3006/contents/list i get my list of conents with the

I have created a new folder called administration in the view and an

how to best import Evolution/Thunderbird mail into dovecot?
Hi.
I'm migrating all my mail archive (some 60 GB) from Evolution (which is
really a broken piece of software) into dovecot.
Now I face the problem how to do this best...
Evolution (which is still a old 2.32.x version) itself uses mbox files,
in a special hierarchical structure to allow subfolders and that like.
It also stores it's own status info in X-Evolution and

Mongrel 0.3.1 -- New Site/Runs Right
Hello All,
Yet another release of Mongrel proudly pushed out for everyone to review and
comment on. This time though, I''ve done up a little website that''s *way*
better than the plan Rdoc that used to stand in for the site like a
one-legged leper.

As you should already know, Mongrel is a fast HTTP server and library for

GPIO as NUT driver interface?
Great, thanks!
Also just for context, this sounded reminiscent of one of the first NUT
drivers, `genericups` (for simple contact-closure support, with IIRC
serial-port connections rather than GPIO).
Nearby there's also a `generic_modbus" name. Wondering if the new driver
should be (similar to) `generic_gpio`.

HTML generation w/out browser Interpretation
I just recently moved my web application to production mode and
published it online. While everything functioned ok locally, I have a
very bizarre error now affecting my application. One of my
controllers, Work, is not behaving properly. Whenever I call the
action new, create, edit, or update I get all of the HTML generated to
my browser (this happens in Firefox, Camino, and Safari) but the

Learning R - View datasets
Hi All,
I am making a serious effort to try to learn R, but one hurdle I am facing is that I need to "see" the data as I walk through the examples in the packages. For instance, many examples on the web start by a command like data("wines"). How can I actually view what the dataset looks like prior to transformations and analysis? I have tried to use edit() , print, and

how to debug context switching and mutex contentions?
I''m looking for a suggestion on a good way to hunt down the source of
high context switching and mutex contentions...
Is dtrace the way to go now, or should I stick with something like lockstat?

ROR website''s weblog not viewable on internet explorer
Does anyone know why the weblog at http://weblog.rubyonrails.org/ is
often messed up, with the first or first and second topics left-shifted
and melded with the Rails logo, the Live Search box and the page''s menu?
This happens on all my boxes that run Internet Explorer 6 (IE6). I
checked it on Firefox and the page appears correctly. While it''s easy

Attempting To Recover, fsck infinite looping on me
Hey all,
Had a power failure and subsequent ext3 disk corruptions. Attempting
to fix, but not working.
Its a 120 gig IDE disk, 3 partitions. /boot, /, and swap.
Basically can't boot up since the box can't get to the system files
in /usr/ or anything.
So I'm booting off of a FC2 disk 1 in recovery mode and trying to fix
the filesystem with e2fsck
The boot partition cleaned up
