dvd iso's
Well that didn't work. I got a bootable dvd out of it but the centos installed did not detect the media as having the installation files. It asked for a cd instead of recognizing the dvd. Winiso cannot handle dvd's..:( Anyone have a way to make the centos installer realize all its files are on the dvd instead of looking for three cd's? -- My "Foundation" verse:

Root fs suddenly goes r/o
Out of the blue, dmesg on my HP Proliant w/ a SCSI disk gives loads of messages like this one: EXT3-fs error (device dm-0) in start_transaction: Journal has aborted Then the root fs goes read-only, so little else can be done on the machine. LVM locks up. At restart, fs needs a reboot to recover after fsck. The host starts up ok, then I am given some more minutes before the problem reappears.

logrotate
I am googgling right now but am unable to find a simpler description of how to get logrotate to do what i want it to do. I have a cs 1.6 server that generates quite a bit of logs. That log generation is going to increase significantly with one of my plugins i am going to be installing(logD and the impressive plugin). I want to tell logrotate to daily rotate all the logs inside my

How to? Set boot up display resolution
I have been given a replacement monitor for my CentOS-6.3 KVM test platform. It is an LG E2251 22in letterbox format screen whereas the unit it replaces was a 17" standard format display. The console messages now look as through they were output on Silly Putty. The display itself displays a message to set the resolution to 1920 x 1080. I have found references to using the vga option in

Richard Stallman responds.

(fwd) Would you please post something saying that this statement about my vies is drastically mistaken: Actually, RMS openly condemns any commercialization of software. He also equates being paid for writing software with prostitution. Neither of these is true. I have nothing against getting paid for writing software; I've even done that myself while working on GNU. Raid issue
I am curious about something. I have a friend that made a software raid 1 partition across a 250 gig 7200 rpm drive and an 80 gig 7200 rpm hard disk drive. he shut the system down normally to clean it out and when it came back up he gets the following: a superblock on /dev/md0 failed would mdadm --assemble --force fix it or lead to more damage? -- My "Foundation" verse: Isa 54:17

Where is clustat
I thought I've installed the clustering tools, but when I attempt to run clustat, it says it doesn't exist. When I installed the suite, I ran: yum install -y GFS GFS-kernel-smp magma-plugins fence dlm dlm-kernel-smp gulm cman cman-kernel-smp CCSD is running and when I "cat /proc/cluster/nodes", I see my three nodes. Profile Funniness on a Solaris 9 PDC
I'm running Samba 3 as a PDC on a Solaris 9 box. I am able to create profiles and add stuff to the profile (by logging in for the first time), however nothing ever seems to get deleted from the profile. For example, if I remove both the local profile and the profile as it exists on the PDC, and then login the new profile gets created perfectly. If I then add a "Temporary
