Index Corruption xBase database
Hello,
I've been working with a xBase database (similar to dBase) in a multiuser
application. There are like 40 users working on the database on the same
time reading and like 10 writing information.
Sometimes the CDX files (Index Files) get corrupted and is it's necessary
to pack the tables (rebuild the indexes).
I have notice using the smbstatus -B command the following

-B|--byterange
causes smbstatus to include byte range locks.
the fact is that 4 different connections are opening the same byte
range in 'MOVCTA.cdx'

Obtaining lock loop
Hello everyone,
I am working with a database shared with samba and sometimes the client and
server enter in a loop where the client try to obtain a lock to a file and
the server respond with "STATUS_LOCK_NOT_GRANTED". This situation can last
until one of them crash.
I think in the past lock spin count prevent this from happening. In
nowadays samba version is there an option that

Problema para integrar una funcion ajustada a un conjunto de datos con la instruccion sm.density(x)

mismo error, el problema parece ser que el resultado de aplicar la funcion
sm.density no es una funcion si no un conjunto de muchos puntos (x.y) ...
entonces.
como puedo hacer para calcular un area bajo la curva obtenida con
sm.density() ???

como pasar de data.frame -> cast -> data.frame
...ntrada que me entrega "cast"
en un data.frame que me permita graficar a partir de el ?
habia comenzado a hacerlo a mano, pero por la cantidad de tablas que
tengo es impracticable.
Espero haber explicado correctamente mi problema. Toda sugerencia sera
muy apreciada

Como leer una BD con una estructura inadecuada

haber patrones es dificil corregir la estructura del archivo de forma
automatica y son demiados datos para intentar siquiera algo a manos.
Esa es la situacion mas o menos.
Alguna idea ??

Como leer una BD con una estructura inadecuada
Estimados, tengo el siguiente problema:
Tengo una BD de 19 columnas y aprox 500 mil filas, la que tiene muchas
celdas vacias y esta separada con espacios para hacer coincidir los
datos bajo los encabezados.
Mi problema es que al tratar de importar a R la BD no se como tratar con
los espacios vacios cuando se trata de una columna de numeros (para el
texto puse na.strings = "NA") y

Lo que deseamos realizar es una prueba no paramétrica para demostrar que el
IMC encontrado difiere significtivamente entre aquellos que tienen a_HTA
(entecedentas HTA) y los que no lo tienen ( en SPSS de forma fácil utilizo

running on CentOS 5.* and 4.5.
It was solved by installing the package lockdev.
Then you must restart the machine.
