R --gui=GNOME problem
I've installed GNU R statistical comupting language and environment 2.2.1-2 by Synaptic (on Ubunti Linux 6.06 Dapper Drake). I've installed also r-gnome to have a GUI. I can't start my GUI. Why R --gui=GNOME don't start? It cannot find rgnome. R --gui=tk command instead is good. What's the best GUI for R?
How can I start my GUI?
Thanks

samba 4 questions (status, roaming profiles, etc)
I'm testing samba 4 (pulling from git) on my ubuntu 10.4 box and have a
bunch of questions I can't seem to find answers for on the web.
1) There is some problem with my roaming profile such that windows
complains and logs me in using my most recently saved profile. I've
tried moving my profile on the server out of the way, but windows
doesn't seem to recreate it. How do I make

integerization
Hi there.
Just a little status update how that integerization is coming along.
I am trying to limit myself to 32 bit arithmetics. That means
not using any __int64 or long long datatypes at any point.
I have now replaced all steps up to including the estimation of
the LPC filter coefficients with integer code. That is about a
quarter of the total work completed, I would say.
One problem that i

CentOS4 cannot shutdown
Hi
I am new to CentOS 4 and using the OS for my work. I found only one problem with the OS that the OS can not shutdown. My comupter says:
Halting System
md: stopping all md devices
md: md0 switched to read-only mode
Shutdown:hdc
Power down
acpi_power-off called
but after the comments, my computer does not seem to shutdwon. Could you possibly help me please?

integerization
Hey.
The problems with Levinson -type algorithms and integrization are
well known. Older codecs have usually solved the problem by using Schur
decomposition for inversion of the autocorrelation matrix instead of
Levinson. Another solution sometimes used is to use double precision -
in this case you probably could code some pseudo-64bit implementation
(using only 32bit commands), but that

automatically create home directories
I have a Suse 9.1 Enterprise Server connected to our Windows 2003 Active
Directory Domain for use a file server, housing peoples home(backup)

connected fine. The problem is that when I create a user on the windows
box it's not creating a home directory in Linux. It says I don't have
